Error 36: A file was locked that could not be opened for writing. Restart in 10, 9, 8..."

There are several threads that post a variety of possible fixes (restart, run as admin, delete folder, etc). If there was a single fix or if I knew which fix would work for you, I would post it here.

Got the same problem the run as admin didn't work

I had to completely reinstall the game to fix the problem

it was a major pain. sorry your going through it too

but. untick patch on demand + tick force verify and verify files didn't work for this? (after restart/kill process if needed to kill a process, at least?)

I have no idea if it helps this error (and it's not my idea - it was snovern who raised it just no idea if it fits here) but better for others to know if you know, I think.
