How about adding these two ships to the list of what we can use our T5 ship tokens on?

The ship choice at level 61 is still free, but yesterday in chat I was reading that Cryptic decided at the last minute, the VIL launch day, to not give an accompanying free Upgrade Token too. I don't know why, but hopefully I'm wrong. Nevertheless, good idea for the T5 Kamarag & Ambassador.

If you didn't burn a ship token before to grab the space peanut(Orion Marauder FDC), the B'rel, or the Varanus, yes, you can. LTS players have two tokens. Everyone else has one.
This ship redemption via token/shipyard system is different from the C-Store system, please note.

Hello rubber banding my old friend, time to bounce around the battlezone again, where are all my bug reports going?, out of love with this game I am falling, As Cryptic fail to acknowledge a problem exists, Shakes an angry fist, And from Support all I'm hearing are the sounds of silence.
Agreed, they are not the same ship. Vaguely similar at best. Not the same ship; I don't know why folks keep saying that.
Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

The free level 61 ships rewarded are the exact same as the T5 free options for LTSers with the same stipulations attached & that's a bit of a redundant shame but still potentially nice if you already don't have them all. As already addressed too these level 61 free ships won't open up the ship for account wide it is just for that character & if discharged not reclaimable.
The Upgrade Token fiasco has either been totally kiboshed or delayed indefinitely so pretty much with Cryptic's history reneged & tossed under the rug to be forgotten. During the stream it seemed their intent began as generous & true, but there was a hiccup in implementing it & decided it was too much effort that could benefit "free" players the most while only marginally the paying players.
Cryptic has done bound Upgrade Tokens before & that's what they should do here.
It gained one console slot (Sci), the Lt Tac seat became Universal, and the Lt Eng seat became Eng/Intel hybrid. The only difference between how they handled this and most other T5 to T6 transitions is that they made one seat Universal (You're welcome), and they don't let you use a clunky* one-off ship design that was seen for... one?... episode. (You're welcome.)
*Much of the concept art for the EntC was scrapped due to time and budget constraints. It was supposed to have much more elliptical shaping, but that cost more than just making the saucer, hull, and nacelles round. In fact, IIRC, the nacelles were carved from lengths of dowels.
I agree, there's nothing wrong with actions like for "new customer" but it shouldn't be "only". Cryptic's history is notoriously littered with being exclusive versus inclusive especially the last couple of years. If Cryptic feels giddy & wants to send out free R&D packs, exp boosts, or even a free ship to free players or players that haven't played for a certain # of months why not too include players that do subscribe, are LTS, & play more consistently? It's only going to generate a more positive response.
Cryptic should've gave more thought to this generous gesture beyond a copy & paste moment with these level 61 perk ships especially for those LTSers & it shows they didn't by mucking it up on the free Upgrade Token which is easily fixable with a bound Upgrade Token Character or Account. Nowadays in STO T5 ships have a very diminished value anyways yet they cost the same as years ago. Cryptic missed an opportunity with this gesture by not expanding that list of ships offered & the T5 Kamarag and Ambassador would've been shinning examples of that forward thinking or even something like a special bound T5 only Fleet Ship Module(s) to use for a ship.
It's all about enticing new &/or free players to stick around & grow with STO's community & spend real money too if they want. That can easily be done without neglecting or slighting paying retentive players with minimal effort.
I must state I understand nothing offered for free has to be of course. Most times something offered for free though isn't about goodwill it is a marketing maneuver to entice money to be spent. Too many get hung up on the whole "free to play" phrase when it is just a business model with more & more gambling.
Cryptic did a lot right with this VIL, given it's less than previous expansions, & they deserve praise but there are also some Whammies too.
> I would add that the Dyson ship be removed from the Lobi store and offered up like the Ambassador ideas. Heck, putting all the ships into the Phoenix Pack wouldn't be so bad either.
Anyone paying Lobi for a Dyson ship is crazy. I mean I have all three base models from the event, plus purchased the Klingon 3pk, and the Romulan Tactical one, as well as upgrading the Romulan one to t5u.
So getting a single ship from Zen, after converting Dilithium to Zen, when they are on sale not only gets you better ship, but lately T5 ships when a sale has been running include a t5u upgrade token.
I love the look of the Romulan one, and have no issue with the Klingon one, but the Fed Dyson ship..... just get a Vesta instead.
So yes put the basic Dyson and for that matter T5 Lobi Obelisk in the Pheonix Box.
I’d be keen on the old T5 Lobi and Lock Box ships being moved to the Pheonix Box after their T6 updates show up in the Infinity Box and Lobi store update.
Split them among the top 2 tiers of the Pheonix Box, depending on if the ship was an event ship or Lockbox/Lobi ship when first introduced.
