Leveling up is way to fast we shouldn't be going from level 60 to 65 within 5mins or less of logging into the game. Leveling up that fast makes it feel pointless and not an achievement. I barely got chance to process the first level up before the next hit. Just finished 1 run though the swarm and now level 65 myself.
Getting to level 65 should have been something to enjoy and work towards over hours. Instead of providing fun extra content the new levels have been pointless.
Gotta love that after the ViL Expansion launch, you guys still have the Season 14.5 'Emergence' Trailer on the main STO News page.
Yep - that's Cryptic.

I purchased the $20 bundle. Was able to claim it in Thebes C-Store.

Although very different in their contributions to STO. @salamiinferno and Dan Stahl are the best Executive Producers Star Trek Online have ever had! Thank you for your superb contributions and decisions that have shaped STO in ways the player base have enjoyed!

I have a feeling double XP might still be active, or have been, since it may be done by the time this post, well, posts. I can't say from first hand experience since I likely won't be in the game today since pre-patching and keeping Tribble up-to-date did NOTHING for speeding up the patching process today.
9.7 gigs is going to take me the rest of the day. Been patching for about the last 2.5 hours and have managed just over 2 gb patched. By the time it gets done, I'll be eating dinner and done with my 'play time' for the night. Oh well, at least the expansion will still be here tomorrow.
Unless there is an emergency patch to fix some bugs. Which there likely will be.
Please, prove me wrong.

I'm in the same boat. Over 5GB of patch & I'm not even half way.

Heh, how about getting to level 64 without even taking a step?
I had admiralty queued up from yesterday, and completing them today took me to 64 in about 10 seconds.
Definitely underwhelming.
I don't comment much, but I am super impressed. Wasn't expecting much, but Victory is Life is flipfrellingtastic. I should've guessed after the high quality of Agents of Yesterday. I can't believe how well done and cinematic this new expansion is. The best so far, best storytelling I've seen in any MMO, absolutely awesome continuation of Star Trek post-TNG era. You devs should be making single-player adaptations or writing new shows/movies.
Anyone having trouble getting ingame? I did the update around 1 but now it keeps crashing at the first loading screen just saying I hope it gets fixed cause I would really love to play victory is life
i am an engineering jem'hadar and i have noticed the ship selector on ds9 is not working for me but others stand in front of it and it appears to be working for them? is there an issue with this not working for certain factions?
I have a charcter playing Agents of yesterday so today i want to play Victory is Life so i created a new charcter.
How can i play Victory is Life ?
Did you create a Jem'hadar character? Because tat is mostly the expansion about right now.
TOIVA, Toi Vaxx, Toia Vix, Toveg, T'vritha, To Vrax: Bring in the Allegiance class. Toi'Va, Ti'vath, Toivia, Ty'Vris, Tia Vex, Toi'Virth: Add Tier 6 KDF Carrier and Raider. Tae'Va, T'Vaya, To'Var, Tevra, T'Vira, To'Vrak: Give us Asylums for Romulans.

That is because, according to the Experience Requirement Chart they posted, Level 55-65 costs a combined total of 225,000 Exp. By comparison, 1 Specialization Point requires 159,100.
I pointed out back when they posted the chart that pretty much everyone would cover the gap right away from turning in the previous days Duty Officer and Admiralty Assignments. The community members that responded told me that I was wrong and that it would take a week or more of Doffs and Admiralty to get close to that. So... *shrug*
PROS:
Visual eye candy and improvements to the visuals are consistent.
The new enemies are surprisingly well thought.
It is amazingly user-friendly.
CONS:
The Jem"hadar Vanguard space trait does NOT WORK.
The server is rubberbanding heavily.
The unlockable ships are t5u's that perform similar or worse than t5 from level 40 free token.
I guess it's time the Jem Vanguard space trait gets fixed - since it's actually a purchase product - and its selling point is broken atm.
I only played the first Jem'Hadar mission so far so maybe there are other enemies for me to run into but the Hurq just don't do it for me. They're quite boring.
I agree but I have been playing for 5 years so I would be interested to hear how well a straight up noob or returning player after several years feels about this.

I don't have the Vanguard, but the server is absolutely fine here in the UK and I've had no rubberband AT ALL since the server came back online yesterday. The T5U's DO NOT perform similar or WORSE than the free T5 lvl 40 token because they are the C-Store T5U's and have the Mastery's.
"You don't want to patrol!? You don't want to escort!? You don't want to defend the Federation's Starbases!? Then why are you flying my Starships!? If you were a Klingon you'd be killed on the spot, but lucky for you.....you WERE in Starfleet. Let's see how New Zealand Penal Colony suits you." Adm A. Necheyev.
25 years since the launch of DS9....has it been that long? sheesh I remember it as it was yesterday, man am I getting old 25 years how the time has flown by, well I haven't played VIL yet patching up atm hopefully will get a chance before work, man 25 years its just mind boggeling how time goes by in the blink of an eye.
The Ships Console Manager in the DS9 'Shipyard'is borked. It is not interactable more often than not. Reminds me of the Bank Terminal on Kobali Prime before they fixed it.
'But to be logical is not to be right', and 'nothing' on God's earth could ever 'make it' right!'
Judge Dan Haywood
'As l speak now, the words are forming in my head.
l don't know.
l really don't know what l'm about to say, except l have a feeling about it.
That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
DS9 is visually stunning (albeit overcrowded with NPC's).
What's really borked is the Tzenkethi BZ. Those rocks you have to move are now pitch-black, and when you dive 'underwater', so to speak (under that layer of dust), you can often not see your weapons fire, etc.
DS9 Seems very crowded now but that's irrelevant because I can barely see anything. Everything is pitch black. Yes, I guess I have to adjust my settings, which I've never had to do before, because DS9 looks like a cave. Everywhere else is fine though. In regards to rubberbanding, I haven't had any issues at all and the first mission went very smoothly, if very slowly. Run to this guy and then to that guy isn't very interesting to me. The bank and other consoles worked fine but the ship manager but pretty glitchy.

One of the decisions they made didn't really seem all that thought out, and that's when you first show up and are addressed by Weyoun (however you spell that). He and his partner send you to the ship claim area so that you can choose a different ship, if you desire, but that means going from a completely stocked tactical vessel to an almost empty ship with Mark X weapons. Not sure why anyone would choose that option. Granted, you can claim a ship if you want there, but it doesn't seem all that useful at that particular part of the adventure, especially when you're going to end up at DS9 shortly after that moment (where there's a ship selector as well).
Having said that, these are minor quibbles. I really felt the launch went pretty smoothly, and I'm really liking it.

You can move the gear from the starter ship to the new one, you know.
I certainly didn't want to waste time on the starter when I had T6's to level.
I've been heavily critical of Cryptic in the past, and absolutely will continue to do so in the hopes that highlighting the negative aspects of the game leads to greater improvements overall. However... This latest expansion is remarkably well put together.
The new animation style for cutscenes with greater facial expressions and more emphasis on body language, etc is a boon to the story as a whole.
Easily the majority of the voice acting (90%+) is well written and emotive, unlike a lot of past pieces which felt like the direction was almost completely flat and actually quite jarring to hear in it's place within the game.
The addition of even small things like rain in the opening sequence has added a nice level of immersion.
For the sake of actually having something nice to say, I think I'll leave off the 'now, if we could just improve these'
I will however say that when you asked about player retention and what brings people back to play the game, this is one of those things that you did well, and you will be VERY hard pressed to improve upon, if you even could. What detracts from this expansion are things that you've been told previously, and if they had been sorted, this would have been a glowing release like very, very few others. So yeah, keep this up, tidy up some other stuff, and STO will be absolutely golden (like pressed latinum)

What? I should be able to use the Vanguard Jem'Hadar. Is something wrong with the pre-order?
