DirectX10 compatibility error after installing windows 10

I switched to win 10 and now every time I try to load STO it auto closes and I get a popup saying my video card doesn't support DX10 and I need to upgrade, but I'm running a GTX1050TI with the current drivers so I know that's not the problem. Everything worked perfectly fine with win7 so I'm not sure what the issue is. I have yet to get a response from Microsoft support so I'm asking here in case other people have run into this and had a solution.

    Yeah, I’ve been trying to get on to Tribble since the last large patch and all I get is dxgi error unsupported and unfortunately I did update to the new windows 10 build

    I can play on holodeck perfectly fine but I wanna be ready to be able to play the new expansion so I think I’m gonna got back to windows 7 may be windows 8
