Also the Pulsewave was before they started doing those as account unlocks too. It was only character unlock for the pulsewave.
Anyways... for the upcoming weekend event... I'll just have to decide between my Drone Master and my Cryomancer.
Yea... I got a sci that has all cryo kit modules.
Well, making the mobs cold would help.

I tend to run sompek on a sci with the temporal rep aoe res module. Very handy for dropping as you run past someone rather than having to wait through the animation which leaves you open.
Downside is the lightning round can and will destroy someone as they stagger to their feet just as it can for a freshly respawned player dropped from the cage.

I sometimes time my drop from the cage as the Lighting Round ends. But only if the time for it to end seems short.
I only have one "IMPORTANT" question, are the gloves "ACCOUNT" unlocked?
Since it's bought through Weekend Event Vouchers, it will be account unlocked. They said that when they introduced the Weekend Event Store, even though the rewards had always been account unlocks from Weekend Events even before then. For some reason, they've never mentioned that in a blog for a Weekend Event yet.
This. The pulsewave hasn't been available since the TERRIBLE 2 week Sompek event. An experience so bad, it's the reason so many players don't have it.
That 3 week event run was fine. I saw about the same amount of griping in-game during that one as I do during every other 3 week event, except for maybe Crystalline. There was ton of griping on the forums about it, but mostly from people who were either emotionally attached to that queue as a way of proving how amazing they were, or from people who felt that it was everyone else's job in any queue to help them get the most marks possible.
You mean it cheats harder every time, like how the lightning doesn't blast npcs.
All the npcs in STO cheat hard as it is, they don't need atmospherics to assist them.
At least there's always a carrot with the stick.
The NPCs and the hazards are all on Team Arena. Not being harmed by most hazards from your own team is a feature of this game. Your Orbital Strikes don't harm your or your teammates, either. Guess you're also cheating.
This is an MMO, not a Star Trek episode simulator. That would make for a terrible game.
So I gather you can't grind these vouchers on more than one character per day? You will only be able to buy one of the rewards?

Why would you need to buy more than one? Buying one unlocks it for the account.
There are different item rewards in the voucher store. Three tokens will only allow you to get one of them. Hence my question.

It is nice to see a weapon that enables martial arts for non-Tactical classes.
However, Cryptic goofed when it came to the implementation of the damage type:
Tsunkatse gloves are electrical, not disruptors!
See actual live action screenshot below:
Also, something important to remember, if you want runs more then six rounds, go to the untimed queue.
It was a source of conflict last time that someone got a bit uppity when their entire team wanted to leave in round six.
Note: bit uppity=player rage meltdown.

Yeah, but Vouchers from different weekend events (that give weekend vouchers of course and not something other things) are standarised - I had 2 vouchers from previous event, got the gloves, now I work on saving the vouchers for the future events - after all it is possible to get 5 vouchers from 1 weekend event.
It seems everyone has gotten a lot better since the last time this ran. 3/3 so far in making it to the timer's end. It really is a very good mission.

Are you sure it was the Voucher avaiable and not just the Sompek Arena queue?
My cooldown list shows Arena of Sompek is Avaiable, but I know I did one 5 or 6 hours ago and the Voucher is once every 20 hours per account.
But the queue itself got 30 minutes cooldown.
...My cooldown list shows Arena of Sompek is Avaiable, but I know I did one 5 or 6 hours ago and the Voucher is once every 20 hours per account...
The cooldown display in the queue dialogue is bugged. It shows the cooldown for Merits of Sompek, which aren't awarded for this weekend event, not the cooldown for the Weekend Vouchers. Sometimes you can get away with running these events on multiple characters to collect extra vouchers so when I saw another character wasn't put on the account cooldown after running the event once I gave it another try. No joy getting that second voucher for the day on my account, but I'm not going to complain as I knew it was likely and may put the marks to use in the future. That's when I noticed the Merits of Sompek vs. Weekend Voucher difference.

Yeah got in 2 runs of timed and cleared wave 20 both times.
For me the biggest improvement is that the lagg appears to have vanished. I know i just jinxed it, but for now the lag is gone.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
In case anyone wants to see what fully upgraded Tsunkatse gloves can do, I went to Defera and punched the heads off a few Borg: https://youtu.be/TNKL_e9dDQU
No I didn't doctor it, you really can hit enemies for over 600 damage in a single blow. It's a combo power. Hitting the left punch and right punch buttons in a certain order causes you to do a round house kick.
This is a good event. Two things I'd have changed but are just my opinion:
1. The gloves shouldn't be a weapon but be equipable in a separate new glove slot and give a 7-15% melee damage buff based on mark level/quality.
2. The runs are kind of long. Wish there was an option of staring at a higher level.

They're not gonna add a new equipment slot just for 1 item, having them be weapon is the best you can expect for 1 item. Now if they were planning on adding gloves as seperate item (like experimental weapons on escorts) and this was the first on the list then you might expect them to make it seperate item but nothing like that was announced.

Yeah, that was more of what I was thinking. A slot for the frosted boots, the gloves, and additional items of that you wear and would not necessarily carry as a device.

technically, they didn't get the damage type wrong...but they did leave a damage type out - it should be doing polaron as well - now, you could interpret the line 'bioplasmic SHOCK' to indicate they deal electrical, but i don't think that's how it was meant to be interpreted
Polaron disruptors were weapons used in the sport Tsunkatse, which delivered a bioplasmic shock on contact with the opponent's target sensor. They were worn as pads on the hands and feet, and varied in color according to the type of match.

Here are the closest animations I could find:
Only the one in the middle looks like an uppercut, the other two look like a upward heel strike.
Getting a specific melee attack is tricky, the sequence of alternating left and right attacks has to be fairly precise in order to activate it.
It can be something like left-right-left or left-right-right as some examples.

That would defeat the purpose of creating this weapon.
It is not intended to buff an existing melee weapon, but to provide a Tactical Kit Ability to Science and Engineer characters:
