STO launcher won't stop patching, have downloaded over 60GB so far

Is there more than one download server? If so, could one or more of those servers have a corrupt copy of the file causing CRC issues?

Nothing yet, forgot it was patching and wasted 3.6gb on a 132mb file as the corrupt file tries over and over..
tried with safe mode, force verify, and on demand. The issue is on the patch server.

are they going to sort this in the victory is life update or what I seriously hope they do, my windows just updated so if its a pc issue Im trying to update the game again today... not expecting much though

Can some one please explain the purpose of the pre patch? I dont see the point if I have to re download the entier thing again the day the patch goes live..

EG: ViL..A 9756MB (9.53GB) patch which downloaded last night is now redownloading the entier 9756MB (9.53GB) patch again today..

In effect I am downloading 18GB in two seperate batches of 9GB+..WHY?!

Just a suggestion, if it has to retry 534 times, there's a problem, and just trying again is probably counterproductive (and is slaughtering people's download limits, some of which come with fees).

The fix does not seem to have worked unless we need to clear something on the client side first?

I was able to install the game and log in to play. Not sure what they did but it seems to have worked on my end.

I do not have time to delete and reinstall (again) right now but if they don't get back I eventually will, and I'll manually clean the registry this time (unlikely there's an issue there).

Tested. Infinite patch download still occurring in my instance. Would an attempt to connect to a different server be a possibility? I have friends that were able to download the patch without any issues... maybe trying a vpn to "connect" from a different location?

Patcher is downloading way more than the actual patch size,,the patch size was 9.53 gigs..I stopped it once it reached 9.7Gigs on the received bar..

Tried no proxy via the launcher
Tried both US & EU proxies but no luck..

Guys get this fixed please.. Basically I am out of the game till cryptic fixes this..

Just tried my luck again..

Ran the patcher..
Shows 2628KB to be patched..
It zips to 2552KB patched..
And now has downloaded 132MB..

Result: Still its dead until cryptic devs get into office and fix the corrupted file on the server..

Started working for me last night also. After the fix was implemented and it still was not working I tried various options. It seems like reselecting "on-demand patching" option got it working for me. I tested unchecking that option again and it gives me the infinite patching again. Rechecking that checkbox lets me in again. Note this did not work before the fix so if you have already tried it before its worth trying again. Thank you cryptic engineers for looking at the issue. I know yesterday was probably hectic.

So basically only on-demand patching lets you in?! Damn..Well as a former QA tester for codemasters, that aint a fix at all..And I hate the on demand patching BS as its just a server resource hog in game..BUT will try it out..Thanks..

To the DEVs by no means is this a fix for people who prefer to have a patched game before getting in..

I was able to complete the patch download with on-demand-patching disabled. I have not tried re-enabling it yet.

As of right now with On Demand disabled, since the 8th June patch it working normally..Am running with On Demand OFF..But in another thread someone reported a .BIK file is now causing a problem..A littlle curious about the fie integrity server side..Files getting corrupted server side aint good..

Has anyone heard back? I'd like to know whether to expect this to crop back up any minute before I start getting involved again.
