Unable establish connection to patch server error

The game was just running last night, but today, when I try to bring up the game, the launcher tries to update, and fails to connect. I don't know if there is actually a problem with the launcher patch server, or this is an issue caused by the fact that I just upgraded to Windows 10 Spring Creators Update (Windows 10 1803, build 17133.1)

Since everything else is working without any issues, I doubt it's the new windows version.

    issue seems to have been solved cryptics side of things. at least it wasn't the new version of windows that was a t fault.

    spoke too soon.... now launcher has following error: Unable to authenticate. Connection to the account server timed out.
    so the launcher is now able to come up, but I can't log in.

    yeah I don't know what was going on, whether "that one guy" was trying to DDOS neverwinter again and STO was getting the fallout from that or what. it was weird. I would go to ping the patchserver , and it would get 100% success, but the launcher would not connect, or in the case of the first attempt of the day I made, would not even load because it could not patch or check for a patch
