Hey folks, if you're having trouble slotting the project, try slotting a project from a different reputation first. That seems to clear it up.
I'm lvl 24, I don't have access to any other reps until 50. Am I supposed to rush to 50 just to slot something that is supposed to work starting at lvl 10?

I just got my second Hologram and I still don't have a project to put it into. Obviously there was no patch today to fix this issue and since it's Friday there likely won't be one until early next week, if at all.
Is this going to be fixed before the event ends or are those of us with low level alts just SOL? I'd like to know so I can either keep going and collect enough Holograms for the reward or just stop wasting my time now.
And yes, I know the unique reward is an account unlock but the Toy Rocket and shuttle Phoenix Hologram are per character unlocks and I would like to have those for this character.

I like the event and minigame, though I can see why people AFK it; when the winner seems to be chosen at random and there's no rewards, why waste the effort by doing something worthless?
I know this event only runs once a year so it probably doesn't have that much priority when it comes to technical perfection, but COME ON... Is it so hard to make sure that better models reach better distances? All-purple model scoring the same as an all-grey model is ridiculous. I don't even care about the fact that it doesn't factor into the rewards (or that there is no accolade/title or anything like that) - Just the token recognition for building the best model in the form of getting the best score would be enough for me, but apparently even that is too much to ask...

I had an all purple model blow up right off the pad, while an incomplete green beat everyone! I've been really participating (just like last year), but heck, I think I'll AFK the rest of this, since there really is not even TOKEN recognition for participation. This event is run in SUCH a slipshod manner that there really is no point in doing more than showing up. Which is a shame, as the mapmakers really did a GORGEOUS job. Too bad the programmers let them - and us - down with a bang.
Ah well, 1 Spec Point per Alt for sightseeing isn't bad, I guess.
Off topic, I wish Zefram Cochrane had been a Gilbert and Sullivan fan. I'm getting rather sick of Magic Carpet Ride by now.
Run it on three characters each day so far on console (for the marks) and I've noticed that magenta rocket consistently hit 4 units off the pad before going boom regardless of the parts used. Far more consistent a result that the rockets with no parts somehow getting 100units from the ground and perhaps a solid indicator that the cryptic RNG machine needs a fresh set of batteries.
And on console because the scanning game sometimes overlaps with the launch you can actually be swapping parts mid flight, although again because the flight is tied to RNG and not anything thats come before its a moot point.
So many small ways to improve it such as.
Fires on a bench should degrade the parts if left for too long, 30 secs after the warning purple goes to blue, another 30 blue degrades to green, then final 30 green goes poof.
