Correct Klingon Ship Colors

indysharkindyshark Member Posts: 1,556 Arc User
I'd love to get a Klingon ship with the correct color and a three color trefoil printed and painted, but I can't seem to find the right color green (kind of a dark green color) and a bold Trefoil. Has anyone been able to get a better color? My D7 looks washed out.

The D7 is supposed to be gray. The same gray that only D7 owners are able to use.

As others pointed out, the classic TOS-era D7 is supposed to be light grey. I thought they'd be redone in a greenish tone for the Dominion War but apparently not.

You want a green tone TNG / DS9 / Dominion War era Klingon Warship? It's kind of light with the initial TNG stuff >:)

The studio model of the Vor'Cha

    Negh'Var last version studio model

We have hull textures that match these looks but the way the patterns are, we can't quite replicate them exactly. I'm still happy we got those Negh'Var variants a while back.

Yes, that's exactly what I am talking about. I'd like to see a much darker green like the picture posted above

I want the tan with black and red highlights hull color of Kronos One. Perhaps they can justify bringing it into the game by designing a T6 Kronos Battleship for Challencer J'mpok? Then they can go back and replace the IKS Kal'Ruq with a new Kronos One.

Personally I think they should keep green with the Romulan ships.

Why? Klingons had green ships first.

Well, one green ship. The first green Klingon ship was the Bird of Prey, which premiered in Search for Spock (and then given the honor of being the first atmospheric starship in Voyage Home). Subsequent ships in the TOS movies with the exception of Birds of Prey weren't green. Romulans would be the first to make green their color fleet-wide in TNG so... yeah, Romulans are the ones that should be green. One ship being green doesn't a fleet theme make.

Oh man, I so wish they had gotten the K7 / K'Tinga models an overhaul when they released the T6 versions.

The Undiscovered Country model is a real beauty. I actually own two of them. One I assembled and painted myself. The assembly wasn't perfect, and I picked too dark colors for the paint. The other was assembled by a childhood friend of mine, and he was much better at that then me. But I painted it, this time with lighter gray colors ,and I found it was pretty good looking. (Still is.)
But I still screwed up the decals, so the torpedo launcher area doesn't look as good as it should.

That Bird of Prey Kruge had was originally supposed to be a stolen Romulan ship, hence why it was green.
granted the orginal rom BoP was same pale grey color as most ships in ToS.

That said the "iconic" color for both Klingon and Romulan ships is green but shade and tone are very different. Klingons mix dark green with red, orange, yellow to give this kind of aggressive look to their ships. while romulan ships are green all over with the hull having this paler slightly blueish tone that gives a more cold and uncaring feel to the Romulans.

I remember seeing green D7s only once. Way back in Star Trek Starfleet Command I and II.

Because I played that pretty much non-stop as a kid and young teen, it took me a long time to get used to grey ones lol

As do I. Or at least put the correct emblems and markings on them.
