Interesting ships. I stopped playing my Andorian years ago because I couldn't get a T6 Kumari. I guess I will dust him up as soon as I get back home. The Letheans now have their own ships. Very nice. Not a big fan of the Romulan ships however. None of the Romulan pilot ships look good in fact.
Andorian: Cool stuff
Dewan: Silurian fish ships, neat!
Lethean: B-WINGS!!!

Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!
Seriously though, those Andorian ships look, well, Andorian enough for me. A tad frail looking to be completely honest, but being Pilot Escorts they need to be nimble so some trade off is expected.
Those Lethean ships, for some reason they give me a sense of deja vu, like they are a ship I've seen B-fore. Like some sort of WINGed craft from another franchise. I won't say they're duplicates, because they are not. They just seem to have similar aesthetics to me. My initial reaction was "EWWW, WTF!", but after looking at the pictures a bit longer, I'm starting to like them more.
On to the Romulan ships and to quote someone relevant to this franchise, "Oh my." I can see that this new batch of Rom Pilot Escorts is following the previous ones in showing that the Roms don't always get the best looking ships. Good heavens, the back end on two of them look like either a toilet brush or a circular hair brush. Now that I think of it, it looks more like one of my dog's chew toys. The other looks like a giant isopod. Kudos on doing something different, but that's all taken away by the hideousness of the over all look of the ships. Yeesh.
So, one 3 pack is a definite must have, another is a probable purchase and the third is a "not a freaking chance unless I get the 9 pack on sale" buy. So, I will wait for a ship sale and buy the 9 pack. Pay for 6, get the Rom ones free, essentially. At least they'll be good for Admiralty.
I hope.
Hello. My name is iamynaught and I am an altaholic.
I didn't care about the original pilot ships, so don't really care about these either. And some fugly ships to boot! Someone said the Dewan ships looks are inspired by a toilet brush!
I'm not familiar with Dewans. Is this what they look like?
Andorian ones have very nice skins and I hope they can use the color schemes of their T5 counterparts even if not owning them. Starship traits seem good, but the consoles sound like a mishmash of stuff not suited for an escort and have no synergy, so that's a let-down, but still somewhat interested in them since my fed sci main has no pilot ships.
Gateway Trap Spawner: how does this work? Does your starship enter it like a teleport in a straight line, catching enemies in it too? Is it affected by sci skills like control or epg?
Neurophasic Disruption Field: so it disables starship(s), with EPG damage and subsystem drain? Again, does it scale with sci skills?
Those Dewan ships I think take the podium from the An'quat as the ugliest in my book, like a design made by a child. Just wow.
At the very least the Letheans resemble Breen ships.
I know Iconians left us in peace, but is it wise to have the Romulans give ship classes names close enough to those of the species who devastated the Iconian Empire 200,000 years ago and made them really angry?
Some designers are just asking for troubles.
Tune in next time after the inevitable victory over the Hur'q: the Drantzuli class!
B-wings! Where's my Wookie boff? I want to take it to Quark's and see what happens to the Ferengi who doesn't let him win!
Also are those hyper cannons restricted to those pilot ships? Do they all fire random energy types or is it specific for each faction? Meaning if I get the KDF one will it fire disruptor damage beams and is that boosted by tac consoles?
And just after I made a new andorian captain. wow, loving the look of these new andorian escorts for sure. not sure if I'll grab the others, I prefer my Romulan pilot escorts just fine as is

Well... what do those names actually MEAN to the Iconians? They're probably not the names of races who were at war with them. Instead they're races who used a similar language and may have been friends to the Iconians.
Would have passed over them without a second thought, until I spotted the gravity well enhancer trait. That...... that might be worth purchasing and grinding out to gain it before returning to my normal sci ship on my Sci captain.
I like the extra unique fluff connected with these ships, the Psionic influence of the Leatheans, Mobility subsystems of the Andorians, and Iconian light tricks of the extinct Dewanians.
This also means every KDF race except Joined Trill and Talaxians now has its own T6 ships in the game. Gorn have their Multimission ships, Orions their Blackguard Assault Flight Deck Cruiser, Fersans have their Escort, Nauicaans their Seige Destroyer, and Lethans have their Pilot Escorts, and of course the Klingons have all kinds of ship types fro the Kor to Flight Deck Raptors to the Sarcophgus Carrier.
All that is left is Talaxian and Joined Trill. Not an ally but the KDF also needs an T6 update to their Fekl'ri Carrier.
Federation wise they need Vulcans ships at T6.
So far Fed race based ships at T6 they have the NX for humans, Pilot Escorts for Andorians, Interceptor for Bajorians, an Escort for Caitians, Assault FDC for Tellarites.
If you can make a provision to use the original pilot ship skins, I might swing for this...as it is (especially as I'm still sore over pilot ships getting bupkiss in buffs to replace their lost gimmick yet still pay the costs in having it (slightly lower hull/shield)) the kdf and the bogbrushulan offerings don't appeal
Still, that improved grav well hurts my resolve to ignore the kdf pack... and the wing options (which I hope get skinned to look different depending on faction)

I have a feeling that the T6 Kumaris will be able to use gear and parts from the T5s. Historically this has been true of any ship packs that are upgrades of T5s. The T6 Odys can use T5 parts and consoles, the T6 Vestas can use T5 parts and consoles...
Hell... EVERY T6 ship with a lower tier counterpart can do it. I don't see any reason why that will not be true of the T6 Kumaris.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

My first thought was Freelancer's Titan after you've lost a few bits for the Lethean. Visually, it works just as well as that fighter did, although I doubt it will have that ship's equivalent stats...

I've stated that I'll only buy one, but I guess I might buy a second one after I've seen detailed looks of the ships at the shipyard.

I honestly didnt see B-Wing so much as some Babylon 5 type fighter for the Lethean
Also "Promise of Ferocity" would be far better on the Kuthar....

Well if you're going to buy two, you may as well just buy a 3 pack (Unless you mean buy one for two different factions)
To be honest the Xechas does have a B-Wing feel to it.
