DS9 is my favourite TV series PERIOD, and so I've been looking forward to this for a while.
I'm curious about the Hur'q and their connection to the Feklri for a long time.
I'm excited by the possibility of getting to explore the Gamma Quadrant.
I'm excited at the possibility of a Dominion Faction. If there is, what playable races do you think it will have. Jem'hadar (Alpha and Gamma?) and Vorta are obvious, Changeling is too hard to do, but maybe Wadi, Karremma, ect...? What about Breen and Cardassians, could say some Dominion loyalists of those races have left when the Dominion did, or an exchange of personal before the Dominion had gotten cut off from Cardassian allies during the Dominion War?
I'm curious to see what ships, including new types of ships they will have.
Or will it be more like Delta Rising then Romulan Legacy or Temporal Agents? Honestly people have been asking for the Dominion Faction for a long time.
Will the old factions get any goodies?
Will their be a new specialization maybe?
I doubt there will be a new fleet holding honestly, but a new reputation I could see as likely.
New missions are obvious.
Will it focus just mostly on the Gamma Quadrant or will we explore more of the worlds like Trill, Ferenginar, Cardassia, Breen, Bajor, ect... That feature in the series?
This is the most excited I've gotten about a Season/Expansion since the Season that resolved the Iconian War. I don't see buying any ships for a current character, but I could see buying one for a Dominion character.
I don't see picking Jem'hadar as cool as that would be, but maybe Vorta or Cardassian, or Wadi if those choices are available.
If the Dominion does have starter missions, I wonder what they will be like and if they will have access to the Iconian Story line at all?
I'm curious who they got to do voice acting, I'm betting on Terry Farrell (somehow, I know Jadzia is dead, but this is star trek there are ways around it), Odo obviously, Captain Nog, I really hope Garrek, Captain Ezri Dax in her Vesta class ship from the novels (I mean they got that ship in the game, it'd be silly to have her not captain it), Kira in a Bajoran Interceptor, another appearance of Admiral Leeta, after all they might want to draw more from the mirror universe, Bashir, O'Brien, and Ben Sisko, they need to have the Emissairy of the Prophets don't they?

Thinking there will be another faction right after making a lockbox where the Romulans get nothing and have to settle with their allies' ships all while having stopped being relevant to any storyline after the Iconian War, except a vague similarity with the whole Lukari-Kentari schism?
And let's not talk about the semi-"one-time wonder" TOS "faction".
Based on the latest events, even a nascent Renegade Tzenkethi faction with Neth Parr as the D'Tan of the Tzenkethi would make more sense. And it'd be more interesting too, without Vorta suck-ups behind your back. :P

Tholians are impossible due to their non-humaoid status, and Breen arn't possible because they are stuck in their refrigeration suits all the time. The other Gamma Quadrant species, like the Dosi and Wadi, are also unlikely to be playable, due to not being big enough to warrant the cost to make them playable. But they are likely to show up as NPCs IMO.

> -The Hur'q are likely to be the main badguys of the expansion. There aren't exactly any other Gamma Quadrant species/faction that would pull off being a badguy besides them and The Dominion. And I suspect the Fek'Ihri are to them as the Bluegill are to the Solanae, aka, something they artificially created to be warriors.
> -When it comes to voice actors, I suspect we will have most of the DS9 ones that are already in-game, like Martok, Worf, Kurn, Nog, and Leeta, It's also pretty likely they will get Odo based on the last mission, and Garak, and Quark, are are likely. Sisko himself is unlikely to appear due to the main captain characters of each Trek show being too expensive.
Most of the new races wouldn't be so different in appearance and shape from humans that it would take much time to add them to the game, except for the Jem'hadar, who likely already have art assets for. The Wadi look human aside from a few markings.
If they choose to restrict it to Jem'hadar, Cardassians, and Vorta, and maybe alien hybrids, it will be for story reasons, the same reason they restricted the Romulan faction to Romulans, Remens, Borg Romulans, and Alien Romulan Hybrids.
The Dominion Rep will likely focus on Polarian weapons.
And Ezri as captain of a Vesta, I mean they went to all the work of getting her ship from the novels into the game, so it only makes sense she captain it.
And Terry Farrell as Jadzia Dax somehow, I don't care if its a clone, replicant, hologram, Kelvin Universe Jadzia Dax, Some other Universe Jadzia Dax, Transporter Accident Duplicate Jadzia Dax, a Time Travelling Jadzia Dax, or a Changeling/Pah Wraith taking her form, a protomatter accident bring her back to life like Spock, or some even weirder thing done the hur'q or their minions. I want her resurrected.
And DS-9 is my favorite of the series'.

Adding races as playable really has nothing to do with how close they are too humans, though animation restricts do limit them in many ways. It has to do with adding more back end stuff to the game to make every single new race an actual new race within the game files, which is actually a lot of work.[/quote]
Oh common on, a racial trait isn't that hard. Most of the work is cosmetic, so the more human like a race is, the easier it is to do. Plus some like Vorta and Cardassians already have the parts done.

Some tie-in following the AoY template with the Hideki as canon starter ship.
And then some good storyline missions. We have Martok back, Garak is still alive, Sisko is with the prophets somehow...no idea about Quark.
I already have the Galor and Keldon with my Fed engineer and would love to get some true Cardassian boffs. And if we would finally get race change I would turn him into a proper Cardassian.
Getting Andrew Robinson for Garak would be the most awesome thing for me, though I'm also excited about the possibility of getting Rene Auberjonois and Odo as the current episode hints at.
Don't let them promote you. Don't let them transfer you. Don't let them do anything that takes you off the bridge of that ship, because while you're there... you can make a difference.

The fact that the GQ has been largely unexplored is actually an opportunity since it's effectively a blank canvas the devs have to work with, and consulting Memory Alpha reveals there's about twenty different species native to that part of the galaxy, which is a decent enough starting point.
no?
Joke aside, this game could use the possibility to fail, not just in queues but missions as well. I'd love to have some kind of "ironman" mode where dying would have serious repercussions (and costs).
After seeing the direction the story has gone. I'm convinced that any expansion will include either a generic delta recruit style "gamma recruit" event with existing factions and races as the choices or a Kentari/Lukari recruitment.
Lukari for FEDS
Kentari for KDF
EDIT: Maybe a combination of the above two ideas. Gamma Recruits with Lukari-FED and Kentari-KDF as LTS races similar to Talaxians during the delta recruitment event.

It'd be a copy of the Romulan faction set for <Insert Race>.
These sound similar in concept to mechanics existing within the command specialization (specifically, Victory Cry) and certain traits from the Competitive Wargames rep.
Perhaps more interesting, though, is the proposed implementation of the new mission track, quoted below:
This would entail a lot of work it terms of mission design: quite aside from dialogue and objectives being different for the two forces in a given mission, there might be missions exclusive to one or the other as well.
No, it couldn't. Definitely not as any kind of enforced mechanic. Even a selectable mode for those stupid enough to want to risk their acquisitions is dangerous, because of the potential/likelihood of a flaw in implementation accidentally imposing it on everyone, and people getting their stuff wiped, before devs can do an emergency patch so it could be remedied.
What's that? You don't think there could be a flaw in implementation?
If you want to delete everything each time you die, then, fine, you go right ahead, but keep the idea OFF EVERYONE ELSE'S STUFF! I don't buy things to lose them. I Spend money, but I don't waste it. I definitely don't waste it on a game where I could lose everything due to almost guaranteed technical errors beyond player's control. If there was the possibility of losing stuff I've worked hard to achieve, due to a glitch, a lag, a bad pug run, then I stop playing. And I stop spending. Simple.
If you want to have an Ironman Mode, fine, just delete your character each time you die for any reason. But don't expect others to play by, or even want to play by, the same notion. This was a bad, dangerous idea when Dental brought it up as one of their Merry Trollings, and it's a bad, dangerous idea now. Please don't give the devs bad ideas by mentioning it, and making them think there's even interest in the idea. Just keep the idea between your ears where it belongs, and delete your character each and every time you die, if that's how you'd love to play. You play your way, I'll play mine.
If whales stop playing and stop spending, then having to delete your character anytime you die won't be an issue, because there wouldn't eve be a game to even play...
