I can only assume that the folk complaining never played SWTOR with its habit of trying to download the ENTIRE game (50-60gigs ish I think it was) pretty much every patch that wasn't a tiny minor fix.
eh...even with pre-patching, it took me a while to patch up
though, when you consider hundreds of other people are doing the same, the slowdowns are understandable - even on games with GOOD servers, if i'm logging in just after a major patch hit, it takes a while to fully download everything
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"

Oh I did, and I had to download that twice in it's entirety to get rid of bitraider. This is still worse though.

I found it odd that after a pre-patch that the game wanted to download another patch the exact same size. One thing that may help is to ensure the option "on demand patching" is checked under options in your launcher. I normally have mine off to ensure a fully patched game but in this case turning it on seemed to speed things up considerably for me at least.
You're welcome to go through the code yourself and figure out what it all is, if you must. Most of us already know, however.
I, for one, would love to see the code for this game. I would love to be able to fix some of the bugs that have been around for a long time. If I was allowed to login from home and do this I'd do it for free ... Please don't offer the code unless you can really make it happen ...
But yeah I would really welcome access to the code for STO ....
Just having some fun here no reason to go postal anyone ... I'm just waiting for my game to patch and saw this opportunity to see the code and couldn't resist ....
ok i have been downloading the new patch for 2 hours now and i'm only at 83%...this is crazy...come on and make this faster...9 gigs dont take this dang long. cryptic this is crazy...
Up to 64% now, in only 3hr45m. Glad I downloaded that pre-patch.
4 hours nearly and 26% downloaded of a 6GB patch (started over 4 times by itself). Now of course prime time here in the UK so progress will not be swift.

Currently at 21% completion after nearly three-quarters of an hour... and I'm seriously wondering if there was any point to all the pre-patching that's been going on for the past week. Never mind. I'll just write another novel or something while it finishes.
Per Kael: Patching has been fixed. Restart your launcher to do it faster.

Yes, patching is completed! Just in time for the servers to go down.
It's almost as though events were conspiring to send me a subliminal message, like get out of this game and do something productive with your life. Shan't.

I might not expect that, but.... I did the pre-patch ahead of time.
And in the last 45m, the install has advanced a whole 7%. That's nuts.

"Just TRIBBLE start it....it may be going on into tomorrow."
This is very funny.
Ah...just got word...he's done. Took an hour and a half.
