Just read in the blog:
https://arcgames.com/en/games/star-trek-online/news/detail/10710674-the-mirror-universe-invades-star-trek-online%21
but the most important fragment:
Once a day, players will be awarded a Multidimensional Transporter for playing this event. By turning in 14 Transporters through the Reputation System, players will receive 50,000 Dilithium Ore, 500 Fleet Marks, 250 Marks of Your Choice and a brand new unique ground weapon, Mirror Universe Phaser Dual Pistols. Completing this project on any character will unlock this new weapon for all characters across your account, and additionally the other characters can still complete the project to receive the Marks and Dilithium Ore.
just don't tell me there is error in the blog -please!

Queue up, minimize STO, do some housework, come back 10 minutes later and help take out the dread.
Seriously though, time gated missions just mke people want to AFK, since their involvement makes no diffence to the length of the mission. The only real AFK deterrent is to make it so participation would speed things up.
Daizen - Lvl 60 Tactical - Eclipse
Selia - Lvl 60 Tactical - Eclipse
What is so great about them.
Daizen - Lvl 60 Tactical - Eclipse

Gotta have them anyway.
l don't know.
l really don't know what l'm about to say, except l have a feeling about it.
That l must repeat the words that come without my knowledge.'
I've always hated that the reward was a single character-bound shiny. So any characters created after the event had no way to get it, ever. The Phoenix box helped a lot, but not everything is in it.
I will definitely be doing this with at least one character.
I didn't read this post. I was afk.
How is this part of the "terrible year" narrative that you're trying to sell? This queue dates to several months before Delta Rising, and has run every year since, multiple times in some of them. It's not great, but at least they've finally listened and made the special reward, which will have a unique look and/or some special proc, an account unlock. This is a major step forward, and a great thing added to the game this year.
I guess I should commend you, though, for your tireless efforts to find the dark clouds behind the silver linings.
It's one of my favourites too. And yes, I will be watching for AFK'ers as well
Year of Hell? Wasn't that Delta Rising's launch where everything was an HP sponge?
probably doesnt like the new holding that requires you to do mini games... also it's 5 levels worth... personally I have not done a single one, probably wont ever waste my time on it.
then you add in the nerf/re-balance...
The nerf/rebalance was necessary, though a bit uneven. Funny that many that hate it also want penalties for others to "learn the game better." It's fine if others suffer for playing the game that they want to play, but if you make me suffer by taking away a few of my toys, it's a travesty.
You can get the entire holding done without ever doing a single minigame. The new queues give the provisions, and once you get the Tier 1 upgrades done, you get enough provisions for free daily to run the 500 xp+store provisions projects every day, and then you wouldn't even have to do queues for them. Add to that that it's completely voluntary and it becomes complaining about something added to the game that isn't what you would like to do, but others might, and that you can completely avoid, which is incredibly petty and selfish.
About the only thing that is a net negative for this game this year is the new queue UI, which has maybe a couple of small advantages over the old one, but at far greater costs to effectiveness. That was awful.
A bad queue UI. Whoopie-ding! the world is ending!
I get the feeling that we won't see the old Crystalline event ever again. I like that quick payout, too. Good crutch for the easy-mode players, after all. I would prefer that all of the 3-week events were that one, even, but I realize that it's not good for the game. They shortened Breach for the event considerably (also in this "terrible year" where so much went wrong, mainly with peoples' tear ducts) so maybe we'll get them to take a look at this one's first phase in the near future. It's nothing to get all upset over.
Repeat after me: They don't do things to personally offend you.
I'm with you on that. I ain't buying the "Year of Hell" either.
Right after Delta Rising launched. THAT was rough. This? This is nothing.
I just wanna shoot my old friend the ISS Stadi.
All these things that have been added to the game are actually detrimental to the game as, in your own words...
So... which Rule of Acquisition does this fall under?
I forget the number.. but umm...
"She can touch your lobes. But never your latinum." I suppose.
Rate of fire + quick cool down for the secondary = beaucoup spray and lots of fun
Disastrous nerf patch? Oh you must mean the balancing patch. Which was very much needed. It was only disastrous if you built for straight DPS.
It hurt the DPS meta. It didn't hurt anyone else. I'd call that good.
Sompek, the best ground queue Cryptic has made thus far.
The UI, meh.. it's usable. Does it need some more work, yes.
Endeavors, just look at it as the No Captain Left Behind program. That and it's been great for finding bugs.
CE, why bring it back? They already gave us the super easy Normal and Advanced queues for it.
Fleet holding, the entire system is useless to the game. Just a distraction with power creep.
Three FE's. Well, they are trying to keep New Frontiers going until Victory Is Life releases.
Mirror Invasion. well at least it something to do other than the same old worn out, boring queues that one can get to pop. Oh wait.. right.. it takes longer that 2 minutes and you can't DPS your way through it.
As far as AFK queues go. Ehh you also got Beach Assault and Dranuur Gauntlet. Welcome to the DPS queues.
It's only been a dark year for the DPS and meta side of the game. So overall, it's not a dark year. It's at least an improvement over the usual power creep garage they've been cranking out. Everyone that hasn't chased after the DPS/Meta side of the game welcomed the balancing, adapted, and moved on. Which oddly enough, only the PvE Meta/DPS players complain about the balancing patch. Which the balancing patch came about, because the players were to strong in PvE.
