Unable to Patch

For about a month, Windows 10 has been harassing me with this Security Pop-Up. To get it to go away, I finally accepted the "recommended" settings. Now, every time I launch STO, Windows demands permission for the program to update the hard drive and even after I say Yes, half of the time I can't connect to the Account Server to authenticate and even if I can, the patch never runs.

Does anyone have any idea what I can do to undo the "help" Microsoft gave me?

    Yep, go into User Account Control and turn it off, then ignore the Security pop up.

    Of course that also means it won't alert you when an actual virus tries to mess with your files......

    I've been unable to patch since I installed Neverwinter yesterday. The launcher for both comes up just fine, but on both, it gets to patching and does nothing. But everything else on the launcher works. And I was playing STO yesterday without any problems.

    I was thinking of giving the game another go, but I've tried off and on for hours to figure out how to get connected, with no luck. The patcher just hangs. I guess they don't want my business. Cool. Lots of other mmo's I can play.
