I guess the shoulder width could be a bit wider, but other than that I still think it looks fine.
Other than that, yes, a very nicely rendered boff.
It's a bit much to expect full 3D high-res body scan of the original model quality.
Reductio ad absurdum: Never suggested anything of the sort.
I do wish we had that hairstyle in game.
Given that Leeta, Miral Paris and Seven of Nine all have a unique hairstyle in their designs, and given that Andrea is uncustomizable, I think it's a shame they didn't also do the same in this instance, rather than just slapping on Long Hair 1 and calling it done...

Difference in facial features, I can accept, they may not have been able to secure the rights to use the facial features of the original actress, but it would have been nice if they'd at least flipped the hairstyle assigned, to be closer.
But her arms, they are a real mess
The shoulder bulk needs to be increased significantly to be a better blend to the upper arm, the lower arms could do with being a smidge thinner, and the hands, at least two 'blocks' on the sliders smaller, would be a better balance.
The rest of the proportions are fine, but those arms really could do with a tweak.

This is pretty much my opinion as well. We have to keep in mind, the game has been out 7 years and the engine is probably a couple years older then that.
Frankly, I'm surprised they're able to make ships look as good as they do, but the character models have always left a lot to be desired. I guess I'm just at the point where I'm so used to it that I look at the picture and think it just looks normal.
I know what you mean about how we get used to how things look and think it looks normal, but on the flipside, there have been some really nice character models done at various times

Late to the meeting... Valoreah was only giving their opinion and nothing more.
Don't be an enabler: It's trolling. Trolling which has clearly been long tolerated as Val's schtick, but still trolling. I welcome contructive critique and honest debate with anyone. I do not tolerate contrarianist Devil's Advocacy floated under the guise of naivete.
And frankly, I've of similar mind. She looks fine. Healthier, in fact, when compared to her inspiration source and their thinner arms. But I do see where you're coming from.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by healthier, compared to her inspiration source I don't know Sherry Jackson's measurements, but I wouldn't have said she (then) looked unhealthy. I doubt she was particularly big, and she was definitely slim, rather than heavy-set, but her proportions would seem to be very average and normal, so could you clarify what you meant, please?
My biggest beef with the character models in this game is when you scale the arms... You can sort of see it on Andrea. Somehow they got it backwards as, when I look at my arms in real life, my lower arm is NOT the shorter of the two parts. I've made this very observation in my race build thread, and it's pissed me off to no end.
I think I see what you're meaning there, and yes, the limb balance isn't quite right. I've notifed it more myself in the past in game, with where the thigh can seem unusually long.

I never said you specifically did. It was more a general statement.
Okay, but it was also an unnecessary one, which, given no one had said anything which would merit that as a comment or reaction, and your past conduct, came across as a reductio ad absurdum strawman intended as argumentative.
I'm going to be brutally honest for a moment: Outside of the most basic of statements, you will never be able to say anything, which I will not automatically take as being intended as trolling, or argumentativeness for its own sake.
On a friendlier note, do you like chess?

A statement I 100% agree with, btw: we can't expect full 3D body scans of the real actresses. Andrea in-game maybe could use some tweaking, but I generally find more common characters, like Seven of Nine, or Leeta, to look far worse than their RL counterparts.
As for Sherry Jackson's health in that picture, LOL @ not healthy.
Let's take it down a notch, @silverlobes. It's a matter of opinion, not trolling. I don't see a problem either. Am I trolling? Others have also stated they don't see an issue. Are they trolling?
If you've got a personal issue with someone, and this bit of advice is for everyone, might I suggest taking it to a private message and hash it out there. Perhaps the two parties can discuss what's really going on and/or come to an understanding rather than involve the entire community in whatever perceived rivalry you've got going on, because otherwise all it's going to end up doing is derailing every thread said parties ever end up interacting in.

Apologies for missing your post, my page doesn't always refresh as quickly as people post, nor always with all new posts added :-\ #DamnAppleGarbage
I reached out to Val privately some time ago, only to receive no response, and no significant change in behaviour towards myself (nor what I see in their behaviour towards others) You may not see it as trolling, being used to Val's behaviour, but I do.
No, I don't think you, or anyone else who doesn't see the issue is trolling, but that is because I do not suspect you or their motives as being deliberately contrarian. Val, on the other hand, I believe commented thusly simply to disagree with what I said, and to get a rise out of me. I ignored it the first time, and the second time, given examples of what I was talking about had been provided, I called it out.
I think I've been as open as possible with Val in my last post, and am happy to leave the matter there

You need to get off this "I am the thread police and I decide what trolling is" kick. Nobody gets absolute dictatorial power over how everyone responds to their thread. If you find no value in someone's contribution, just ignore them.
The problem Badmoonrising refers to seems to be one being leveled at anyone with a differing opinion, with Valoreah getting the lion's share of it. We're being questioned as if we've made a slight against the original argument presented instead of what's actually happening, presenting differing opinions within the context of a discussion. Take a step back, stop reading into every reply looking for deeper meanings and just carry on with the discussion in a civil open-minded fashion. Do this and hopefully Badmoonrising won't have to come back to close what should be a simple discussion about game assets.

You might be content to allow people to walk all over you and call it 'just ignoring them', but I was raised to stand up for myself and defend my opinions, and to do otherwise is cowardly and intellectually dishonest.
Oh, and acting like a moderator (ie telling people what to do) that's against community guidelines. And given that you've contributed nothing to the topic of my thread whatsoever, I consider your post nothing more than an unjustified personal attack.

To be honest, I hope baddmoonrizin does close the thread. It was not intented as a discussion: There is an (albeit slight) issue with the boff's design. I'm not really interested in if anyone else agrees or disagrees with me, or if they think there is, but they're okay with it, or if they genuinely can't see it. I posted a picture of Sherry Jackson as Andrea, the shape of her upper arm is clear, and the shoulders of the boff do not reflect that. The matter of if it is ignorable, is a personal one. On a personal level, yes, I actually can ignore it, it doesn't bug me enough to airlock the boff, but that doesn't mean that it couldn't do with a relook when someone has a spare moment (and of course, they have way more important things to be dealing with, so as I said above/over the page, I hope it gets sorted, but I doubt it will be sorted any time soon )
As for how I respond to others; I treat everyone accordingly. I'll initially treat anyone as well as I can, but afterwards, I will treat them, according to the way they treat me
It was intended to draw a little attention to the issue. With hindsight, I should have posted the observation under the bug-report thread, rather than General Discussion.
I'm going to be brutally honest for a moment: Outside of the most basic of statements, you will never be able to say anything, which I will not automatically take as being intended as trolling, or argumentativeness for its own sake.
I'm going to be brutally honest for a moment, and say the issue is clearly with you then.
And this really *does* pain me to say, as I generally like you. (Honestly, I do). But I recall another recent thread that went extremely bad for you as well. Something about comparing DPS-ers with god-knows-what; but I remember it was ugly.
And here? Honestly, I haven't seen valoreah say anything in his thread that I would even remotely qualify as inappropriate, let alone trolling. So, please, please, just let it go, k? (At least publically) Cuz otherwise, well, nothing really, of course, but then I will likely chalk this off as another 'totally-gone-out-of-whack-for-no-good-reason' thread. And that would be a shame, as you brought up an inherently good point about in-game character portrayal.

'Person gets consistently challenged when/wherever they post, then ripped on for standing up to the troll.' Put that in any other context, and tell me that it's an acceptable occurrence.
And regards the comparison I was making to DPS-ers, ugly or not, I stand by it: Because it's the exact same ugly power-trip mindset of someone doing what they want to get their gratification without any consideration for how that will impact the enjoyment of others, nor their feelings about it. It might not be The Exact Same Thing, but on a psychological basis, it Is the same mentality. But back on topic:

val commented, in the contrary to what I said, for no reason other than to be contrary. They did so once, and I ignored them, but when I posted examples (for someone else to consider) showing exactly what I was referring to, val's reply? 'Still not seeing the issue to be honest'. Sorry, but someone saying they can't tell an obtuse angle from a (near) straight line (especially as other people are also acknowledging what I referred to, so it's not just, as Kylie sang, 'in my imagination') that's dishonest and disingenuous. And as it wasn't adding anything to a discussion, so I take it as trolling. Others are free to disagree.
Now with regards letting it go, I am perfectly content to never ever ever again respond to ANYTHING val posts anywhere on forum on any topic, nor refer to them in any manner whatsoever. So long as they are prepared to do the same. I can't block val as I would like to do, and would have done months ago on any other social media, but I am prepared to come to a gentleman's agreement to deliberately ignore each other. I previously made a similar offer privately, which went gone unacknowledged.
On a lighter note, who is Andrea#1047? Strange they'd append a hash to her name like that.
She's my Andrea (or rather my AoY captain's ) I borrowed the idea of numbered androids from the ones in that Harry Mudd episode, and in the inventory, changed her name to have 'name and number', and the side-bar 'public name' is Andi. 10's one of my lucky numbers, and 47, well, pretty much a Trek staple

Well, OP, if you don't want an actual discussion, my suggestion is don't post on the forum. Perhaps this should've gone in the bug report subforum as you said, or even the art subforum, but even there others are likely to respond.
Matters of opinion are just that, and just because someone doesn't share your opinion, or expresses an unpopular opinion doesn't automatically mean that they are trolling. And, I'm sorry, but you don't get to make that determination, the moderators do. My main concern is to see that the rules are followed and that discussions stay as civil as possible within that framework, not prevent people from disagreeing, because it is possible to disagree politely. But you cannot stop others from replying or demand that they do so, because it is a public forum.
