A toast: To Elisa Flores(es)

Ms Flores is many things to many people, from their best friend at the academy, to potential waifu, to the first scrub to be assigned airlock inspection duty. At the very least, this pan-dimensional mischief-maker is a worthwhile addition to any crew: Cheers, Elisa <3

I actually like him. Than again his sister complex is way more fleshed out compared to any other boff so there is just so much more meat to him than anyone else. If you could airlock him, it would actually feel like murder...which maybe why some of the haters really want to do it. But murder is wrong...disposing of redshirts is perfectly acceptable however.

So suggest he looks good in red, give him a red shirt as a birthday present, and get on with it!

I really wanted to stay out of this one but the rampant hatred I see here requires a response. She is a Human, which means she has Leadership; a Space Trait. Inherently she has BO2, APO3, and TS3. Sure, if you are DPS syncophant you are probably going to be using two Embassy Tactical Romulans Boffs with SRO, a Nausican Diplomatic Boff, and Mr. Potatohead. Good for you.

For the most part Cryptic gives you at least one good starting Boff, and in this case one you can use all the way through.

Same, my AoY Tactical character I made by saving Elisa's looks on tailor and using that to make my AoY, only difference is she has blue hair, and in from the TOS Kelvin time, in fact, storywise, she was on the Yorktown in that one quest. She was on a one of a series of shuttles keeping the Klingons busy, and 2 shuttles were damaged from the sphere blowing up, and the prime time ship had no choice but to tractor beam the shuttles and take them with it, since the remaining Klingons were approaching.

Now if that annoys folks or not, I do not know. o.o

In this game of Space Barbies something as trivial as good starting skills and traits in bridge crew is so last decade. The real game is if we can have Count Chocula or Clueless Blue as a bridge officer! Heck, I made a whole thread on this very subject (shameless plug in banner below)! Humans are everywhere, they're so blase. Embrace the IDIC!

As for the Elisa Flores that was assigned to me? Well, I didn't kill her but I did find her constant arguments about my first officer's loyalties to be grating. So what if they were a Klingon Kaminoan named Ower Siyr, that Kaminoan managed to make my warp core go plaid! Nothing like a little time travel for a weekend on an old Romulus beach before attending a luncheon with the leadership of New Romulus. So I sent Ms. Flores back to the Academy to learn herself some manners.

Append: And then I remembered their name instead of using someone else's name. >,>

I kept Elisa Flores on my Delta Recruit. He is an Andorian SciGuy. The rest of the crew is Andorian, including all the DOffs. So Elisa is my token Hew-Mon. I would prefer her to be more a lot more Hispanic in both appearance and voice. The appearance thing was an easy fix. And at least she isn't moaning all the time about her missing relative while usurping my command authority. Left her as my XO and she is the Lead TAC on my Away Team. I also use her to try out all the new ground gear I acquire.

Looks like Cryptic/PWE learned something from the player's response to Tovan Khev when they were making Elisa Flores. I still want to strap Tovan, his sister, and his Tal Shiar crazy ex girlfriend into the nearest photon torpedo casing and then launch said casing into the nearest black hole. The only thing keeping me from doing so, besides the game mechanics, is the fact it would be very cruel to do this to a black hole

If Toven and Rinnna had swapped roles in the story I can assure you you would of seen like less than 1/3rd the complaints, which is kinda funny and sad at the same time.

As for Elisa, yeah she's ok I still have her on all my feddies made since she came out, tho a few of them she's only made it out of ensign to redo her ground abilities.

Her Toven and K'gan are all really solid ground boffs.

I find that giving her dark blonde hair, gives her a similar appearance/complexion to some Brazilian women :sunglasses:

As for Tovan, I really don't mind the guy (and think he looks like Josh Brolin :D ) and I think Rinna is really pretty. IMO it's a shame she doesn't become a 'joining the crew' boff after her rescue, much like playing that Delta Quadrant mission delivered Mr Potatoe (I airlocked his turn-coat TRIBBLE right away... Can't let someone like that have access to ship's systems  )

She's still first officer on my fed main character.
She's pretty much just a basic boff so I customise her to my tastes and put whatever abilities I need on her. In fact I think she's one of 3 of my boffs that have every single ability at all ranks trained. Ready to cover any posting.

Oops! I knew I forgot something. I have Elisa Flores trained in all four of the Specializations. With all of the Abilities in each. She is my jack-of-all-trades and very useful in nearly any situation. Always liked the the way Spock was gifted and talented in many areas besides being a Sceince officer so I decided to try and get as close to this as I could in STO.

Also to be fair: Once my Rommie EngGuy finished helping Tovan find Rinna, Tovan ceased speaking. Which goes to the heart of my dislike for him. I don't mind a gentle suggestion about what I am supposed to be doing next. But the beating me over the head repeatedly until I get it thing got really old really fast. Now that Rinna is safely tucked away on Mol'Rihan Tovan just serves as my 2d TAC on the Away Team and never says a word. He is also a Plasma Specialist. If you havent' seen him use the Rommie Rep Plasma Flamethrower whenever there are Borg around, then you're missing something. You want fries with that? lol

I tweaked her appearance on my one fed made after the new tutorial but kept her...

As for Tovan, yeah he needs airlock duty. The part that pisses me off the most about him is all his development came at the cost of the budding personality of the other BOFF we got levelling a Romulan/Reman. That start off with a little flavor and begin to develop a little, then mute as the rest of em. Less whiny blow-hard trying to run "my" story for me, more development of the others plz.

A couple of points which I think people may forget with regards Tovan, is:
The material you mentioned (the beginning up till locating Rinna) is Tovan's story, not the PlayerCharacter's story ;)

When we begin a Romulan character, they beam down, and wave to Tovan; They are clearly old friends (as corroborated when the much-addled Rinna recognizes the Player character as exactly that: Tovan's friend) So that means he's going to have input on the way the events of the course of his life unfold ;)

Taking those factors into account, I believe he makes much more sense :sunglasses:
