The Phoenix launched with the nacelles retracted. Just saying. More details would be nice, but I expect they'll be forthcoming. https://youtube.com/watch?v=ejwrxGs_Y_I
Not sure if it is my cup of tea, but I'll check it out non-the less.

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.
I sure hope the parts we have to collect despawn as soon as some other goober grabs it so I have to go racing around an overpopulated map for 30 minutes hoping to grab a part at the spawn location where 10 other people are camping at!
Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.

I was thinking along the same lines but where they just randomly stop existing like the omega scanning minigame that will still simply stop for no reason, especially in zones like defera ground.
Or that if it involes running about that it will inherrently be biased against those who have to deal with the transatlantic ping like the stupid ice slalom during winter.
Very disappointing. Thanks for thinking of us in 2014.
There never was a real Day of Honor and Republic Day in STO, merely a KDF counterpart to First Contact Day so everyone could get something to celebrate on their own homeworld at the same date. Now that the Alliance exists, it's only fair to allow the Federation's allies to go to a very important historical site on Earth itself.
Plus, according to Memory Alpha:
The Day of Honor was a Klingon holiday. On this day, a warrior evaluated his or her deeds for the past year to see whether he had been honorable. It was customary to serve Rokeg blood pie on this day.
The traditional ceremony on the Day of Honor included eating the heart of a sanctified targ, drinking mot'lach from the Grail of Kahless, enduring the ritual of twenty painstiks, engaging in battle with a bat'leth master, and traversing the sulfur lagoons of Gorath.
Doesn't sound much like the Day of Honor we had until last time.

Valid points about the Day of Honor, and thanks for the Memory Alpha quote. However...
The Day of Honor and Republic Day (such as they were) at least acknowledged that Earth is not the capital of the Klingon Empire or the Romulan Republic. Each group was given a celebration respecting it's own contributions, and a prize unique to it's culture.
I will say that my FED alts are overjoyed to see First Contact Day celebrated, and will gladly take part. My Romulans (including my main character), and my KDF characters are justifiably upset. And I can only imagine that others who play mostly KDF or RR feel shortchanged as well. To us, Earth making contact with Vulcan is nothing to celebrate.
While the Day of honor in STO was not celebrated traditionally (as you correctly point out), about Republic Day I must disagree with you. Since the Romulan Republic is a creation of STO itself, the Republic Day they instituted is "official", and as canon as the Republic itself (which, admittedly, means only within STO). I don't see any reason to deny New Romulus (and players of Romulan characters) the established celebration of the culture which the Devs have given us. I may be wrong, but ut appears simply lazy and indicative of the contempt in which we non-Fed customers seem to be held by the Devs. And I see no reason to applaud or celebrate that.

I'd just take it as it being a holodeck in 2411. The fine details of history change over time to suit modern conventions. Ie. officers would be accustomed to extended nacelles, so that's what they'd expect to see of the Phoenix's launch (especially if it helps separate the profile from a launching ICBM.)
Think of it as revisionist history (rather than, say, the holodeck's animators being busy.)

Notable missions: Apex [AEI], Gemini [SSF], Trident [AEI], Evolution's Smile [SSF], Transcendence
Looking for something new to play? I've started building Foundry missions again in visual novel form!
Is this a virtual in-game event or an actual world event?
Well, as we've never actually made a "first contact" with another species from another planet (at least one that is not widely recognized), I'd venture a guess that this is not an actual real-world event...
Just a guess...

hasn't anyone noticed the faulty pic? it's launching with nacelles deployed, whereas in First COntact, it launches like a saturn V / apollo, and deploys nacelles once in space

Starship Traits Theta Radiation Infused Evasive Maneuvers and Hit and Run from the Allied Escorts have a nice synergy that will make Evasive Maneuvers really powerful (even more then it is) especially with doffs that decrease the CD of Evasive Maneuvers.
No clarification forthcoming about Account Unlocks.

No Republic Day? Really?
No Day of Honor? Really?
