When will cryptic learn to....

Tell the time? It's just gone 1pm gmt which is 1300 by the UTC and yet as ever the servers have gone down. It's a small thing but if they can't get something as basic as the UTC time correct what hope is there for more complex tasks like tying their shoe laces.

Semi joke thread, its maintenance day snark time after all.

If you'd read the announcement thread, a poster corrects that every time.
Now a LTS and loving it.
Just because you spend money on this game, it does not entitle you to be a jerk if things don't go your way.

I know, but instead of getting it wrong each week why not simply correct it before they announce the wrong time yet again.

Sadly it seems the UTC time is wrong more often than right. The only thing you can do is take the American time and convert it to your own timezone's equivalent. If need be use one of the online time converters.

From memory they use PST, despite the servers reportedly being located in the Atlantic timezone, which is GMT-7.

Tell the time? It's just gone 1pm gmt which is 1300 by the UTC and yet as ever the servers have gone down. It's a small thing but if they can't get something as basic as the UTC time correct what hope is there for more complex tasks like tying their shoe laces.

How can Americans not understand UTC\GMT? You\they do understand the concept of timezones right?

Cricket isn't so much confusing as boring. Confusing is more gridiron where you have 4 teams playing the same game, players tackling each other regardless of who has the ball, forward throws are the norm etc. :D

The server farm (there's only one, for all of Cryptic) is in the Eastern time zone, outside Boston as I recall; the offices, however, are located in the Pacific time zone, not that far from San Francisco, CA. (Currently we're on daylight savings time, so the times will be given in PDT rather than PST (UTC -7 rather than the -8 of standard time. Don't worry, it confuses us too. No idea why we're even doing this any more.)

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in. Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out. When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side that's been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out. Sometimes you get men still in and not out.

When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in. There are two men called umpires who stay all out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out. When both sides have been in and all the men have been out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game.

That should clear it up for you pig-3.gif.

Maybe right after you learn to make a thread title that tells people what it's about? :)

Sometimes I think I play STO just to have something to complain about on the forums.
