There was a time when I would have taken this opportunity to tell you that you're out of luck and it will never happen.
Recent developments however, have forced me to change that stance. They will put any ship in game no matter how ridiculous.. as long as it makes money.
Want to fly a Star Destroyer? Or the Battlestar Galactica? Just make enough threads and it will eventually happen.
There is pretty much nothing that I'll say will 'never happen' anymore.

I'm pretty confident in saying there will not be ANY Star Wars or Battlestar Galactica ships, or any ships from any franchise outside of Star Trek.

I've recently determined that one of the more interesting things that could come out of a Star Trek crossover would be Data having a typical hero vs villain verbal sparring match with Brother Cavill, aka Cylon skinjob #1. They are as polar opposite as you can get with 2 humanoid machines; Data is mechanical but wishes to be more human, while Cavill is entirely biological but wishes he was mechanical as shown in this season 4.5 rant of his:

Pretty sure that gimmick is still owned by Activision (which Cryptic has been under orders by high above not to use).
That being said, I'm normally not a fan of the idea of a playable borg cube/sphere. However, I think Cryptic should do it just to call the bluff of all the players who say they'll quit the game forevers and evers or that STO is jumping the shark for the Nth time or that it's another desperate "last cash grab" or whatever other hyperbolic nonsense excuse they feel compelled to come up rather than just being honest and admitting that they just don't like the idea.
Because we can't just say "I don't like this", we have to throw in some heavy drama otherwise Cryptic won't understand how much we don't like it.
Oh I think they will do it some day...with how the keep pushing the envelope more and more with ship size...but I imagine they're saving the true Borg ships for a rainy day as well...when they really need some cash flow.

I am pretty sure CBS has explicitly forbidden playable Borg ships in any form.
Unlike their ban on allowing a T6 Connie to be common, rather then a ban on having one at all.

The Connie was *banned* till it wasn't...I don't know why CBS would allow players to control Undine ships while not Borg (Undine are more far fetched.)
Considering all that is in STO these days...why would Borg be off limits when we pilot the likes of Undine, Iconian, and various Temporal ships...
