Game Startup Issue

I have a Laptop PC and have been trying to play STO or months. After the graphics update my laptop PC stopped being able to play the game. The system starts up but when it reaches the loading screen the game freezes. I have unloaded it several times, unloaded Arc and reloaded the game several times and have even unloaded and reload Steam and loaded the game several time from Steam. The game still will not proceed past the load screen. I play other computer games (World of Warships), and they work just fine. IS there any suggestions to resolve this issue

    Same. May I ask where you guys are located?
    I have had this issue for ages as have my friends in my area.
    We are in Australia on the Optus network in Queensland and also cannot get past character screen.
    Just about to call it quits on this game

    I'm in Pennsylvania, U.S.A.
    I've had this problem ever since the new graphic patch came online. I was able to update the game and enter, but then the game stopped on me. When I tried to get back online, the game wouldn't proceed past the loading screen.

    I am having problem downloading the game on my new pc. Need help, i miss playing it!

    I live in Sweden. My loading gets to 40% or little more, on the full screen loading page. Then the game just gets removed the screen, but in the Steam library, it's still running, and I can't shut down Steam. I have to reboot my computer to try again... only for the same result. The issue of the latest graphics patch mentioned, I really don't know anything about. I havn't played this game for few years, if my memory serves. I did play it on this laptop before. Now I wanted to get the T6 science vessel that one could get free and try it out, but it looks I'm too late for that now, or will be real soon( my computer still reads february 23, but I have Swedish time so I'm not sure.
