Well, find me in the Alps. If they really did fire her, as far as I care, these miserable cows can have a fancy barbeque, with a g*d*** pig!
I hope she lands on her feet and does well wherever she goes.
Did you seriously self-censor 'goddamn'?
I wasn't sure if it was on the censor list, so I erred on the side of caution. I only just now found out that the name of the badguys of WWII is censored, even though there's a TOS episode about a whole planet of them.
Trendy will be missed - she's truly passionate and caring person; she was always trying to find the best ways how to approach the community, often going waaay past her own work-hours just for our community's sake. She's a rareEpic Mk XXII one, that's for sure. And I wish her only the best in her future endeavors.

Trendy was the best person they've ever had connected to STO.
Hope her all the very best!
I think you're confused. That was Branflakes. The only CM who actually went into Kerrat and PvP matches for the hell of it. While Trendy was way better than Smirk, she was a bit heavy handed with the ban hammer, plus I never saw Smirk or Trendy in-game except for season release videos.
What the hell ever happen to Captain Kiki? I remember her from the cheesy season release videos with Branflakes.
No kidding. I did see her one time at ESD staring out the window near the Ship Selector and Lt. Laurel. All dressed in black.

Americans have that strange fear that something bad will happen when they don't self censor or invent new "mild" surrogate words for their curses What's interesting is that in German popular culture people start to self-censor their curses as well despite there being absolutely no reason to do so, there is no censorship. But the media started to "bleep" and cross out curses just like our big idol is doing and it makes people somehow feel more "badass" about their cursing.

The media self-censors! Of its own volition?
Trans-Atlantic-cross-continental media exchanges are weird .
Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though. JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

It is indeed. The degree of self-censorship of course strongly depends on the media and the context it's shown in, but a lot of younger people also self-censor their curses in forums and the like. It's really weird to look at. German video games also used to come as special custom versions, although there the "problem" was violence. Game developers like Valve used to make completely new in-game models and sounds for German versions that would for instance replace soldiers with robots in Half-Life. People would often scream "censorship" when in truth the developers/publishers censored themselves for lower age ratings, but they didn't have to do that.

I will say trendy smackd me a couple times with hr BAN'Leth but i dserved it both times....still have a dent in my head from the last one >.<
Trendy worked for PWE, not Cryptic, nobody from Cryptic has left & Trendy leaving has zero impact on anything Cryptic is doing.
And in point of fact Cryptic has recently begun advertising their own hiring on FB and Twitter; they may well be looking for more programmers in order to improve PvP (although I also nurse some small amount of hope that one or two of them will supplement the existing CO staff...).
By the title of this thread it sounded like Morrigan past away, she was just a young woman!
If she fed-up quit i hope she finds something worthy of her and makes her happy. If she got fired that sucks and she probably didnt deserve it cause she was a hard worker, and i feel her pain.
Best wishes Morrigan!
Trendy didn't die. She doesn't work for pwe anymore. She still posts on twitter.
Cant say I am sad at all because I am not. No one really cares about forum moderators.
1. We're talking about someone who just lost their source of income. You can say what you want, but you look like an a** saying it.
2. They were not a forum moderator, they were the Community Manager for STO for quite a while, and recently got promoted. Forum Moderator=unpaid position. Senior Community Manager= paid position. Brings us back to Point #1.
3. Your statement that "No one really cares" is obviously wrong, a great number of people have expressed that they care in this very thread. Even those who have bumped heads with Trendy are turning out, if only because of Point #1.
4. When all else fails, see Point #1.
I'm sorry to see Trendy go, she managed the community with grace, style, and a sense of humor. Oh, and bacon. And coffee. Still looking for bacon coffee...

This is what happens if we're too nice and happy with our CM.
Quick, let's say mean things about ambassadorkael.
"ambassadorkael doesn't know the difference between a pre-ganglionic fibera and a post-ganglionic nerve."
Let's hope she finds a new, cool and well paid job soon.
He also can't stop the heterocyclic declination! We need a molecular biologist in here, stat!
I....I....get the cheese to sick bay!
I, for one, am going to miss Trendy like hell. Interacting with her every day was one of the highlights of my week. Luckily, I still get to see her every week in our tabletop game, but she's amazing and anyone who hires her is going to be lucky.
You play a Tabletop game? ( :: looks off wistfully :: Oh, those were the days. ) So what do you play?

she always pretty much posted her own stuff, just in addition to pwe related material. Now its just her stuff
