Connection to the account server timed out

I have been trying since Friday to login to the game and keep getting the error message 'Connection to the account server timed out". I don't understand. I have restarted computer, reset internet connection done everything i can think of. Can anyone provide any advice? I really want to get back in the game.

    a good idea may be to switch to the U.S. game server (in options in launcher). that seems to be a decent way to get it to bypass the login connection error. worked for me, at least.

    I would like to know what is going on myself. I am having the same problem today. Even the forums are loading slower than molasses. Everything is functioning perfectly fine, so I have rules out any problems on my end. Also - when I go to Options in the Launcher - once it actually loads - there is no way to change game servers...
