Thank you for indirectly admitting the Command Cruisers are just updated Typhoons. Too many fanboys are too willfully ignorant to see it. Whether or not it's an improvement is subjective, but you can't just tell me it's not a Typhoon when it clearly is.

Nope. Unlike the Command Cruisers, this ship actually follows the same lines as the Typhoon (or at least does from the limited views I've seen) the CCs share the same number of nacelles a the Typhoon which equates to the same thing to those with a crippling lack of imagination.

Norway and Yeager dammit... I still want my Typhoon and Jupiter though.
JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

I will say it's really too bad you guys couldn't work a deal with the Franz Joseph Estate and get the rights to use his design (from the Star Trek Technical Manual (circa. 1975)) for the original 3 nacelle TOS era Dreadnaught design.

there's another ship I would have paid to own in game.

That's one of the most ridiculous designs ever. Slapping a nacelle anywhere, does not a cool ship make.

Just as bad as the Galaxy-X dreadnought. A poor idea doesn't really get better if you TOSify it (or vice versa.)

It would be great if we the people, had some control over customization (template) and physical features of the weapons sort of like some ships.

Personally, the TOS - Type 1 And 2 Phaser(s) still look far more pleasing, at least to my eye, then any other weapon I've ever seen. My complements to the original prop dept that came up with that simple and very effective design elements over 50 years ago which still sparks the imagination, looks cool, combines two weapons in one - and is believable.

The TOS era is not my cup of tea and with no kit modules I'll pass on this one.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Additionally, the Undiscovered Lock Box has new Ground and Space weapons within the Undiscovered Phaser Weapons Pack. This box contains two advanced Phaser technologies developed during the late 23rd Century -- Pulse Phasers and Assault Phasers. Each ahead of their time, Pulse Phasers are devastating space weapons, while Assault Phasers were used by strike teams in the final years of the 23rd Century. Each of these weapon types share the Phaser Transfer characteristic, giving them a chance to reduce their target's damage resistance while simultaneously increasing your own. Opening this pack will give a choice between a random Beam, Cannon, or Ground Weapon.

That's because the director was a massive Star Wars fan. <facepalm>

I'll be honest, the thing I'm most looking forward to in this box is the STVI Phaser pistol. Been wanting one of those for years :3

Given that the Franz Josef dread has been around since the 70s, I think it's much more likely that All Good Things' upgunned, 3-nacelle Enterprise was inspired by it rather than the other way around. I always assumed that was why Cryptic dubbed it a "dreadnought" in the first place.

That is disappointing. To me, THIS will always be the Classic Series version of a Federation Dreadnaught starship. How does his estate own the rights to a Star Trek ship? Especially, since it's based off of a design by Matt Jeffries who designed that while working under contract for Gene Roddenberry and Desilu. That's kind of odd.

Because he designed it. While it was built on top of of an existing design, any changes he made are his alone.

Its the same reason cryptic can't just take someones fan art and make a ship based off it.

Heck, CBS can't even take someones fan art and slap it on a book, even if it depicts a ship they own, copyright laws or something.

How can this Lockbox be undiscovered if we've just discovered it? :p

Looks like a good Lockbox though. I'm always more fond of Lockboxes that offer ships and Gear that are directly related to the playable factions.

Wrath of Khan pulse phasers look nothing like JJ phasers or Star Wars turbolasers imho, JJ phasers are somewhat scattered in their firing pattern, as are turbolasers, however with pulse phasers the individual shots all follow the same trajectory and have only a very very slight pause between individual shots, almost like a staggered beam, infact when the phasers are shown striking the enterprise's secondary hull it almost looks like a beam at that angle

Maybe.. the Fed Dread can use the Excelsior Skin; the KDF Dread the K't'inga Skin and the Lobi NX the Miranda Skin? :p
If the Proto Dread has Temporal Widgets and can use the Excelsior skin (and was a reason to update said skin)...

I'm getting the NX-refit for that starship trait. *swoon*

Also, TWoK era pulse phaser cannons. YASSSSSS!!!
Space Barbie Extraordinaire. Got a question about Space Barbie? Just ask.

    Things I want in STO:

    1) More character customization options such as more clothing options, letting the toon complexion affect the entire body, not just the head. Also a true RGB color picker applied to all costume and appearance options, which would allow for true appearance customization and homogenous colors instead of "this same exact color looks vastly different on two different pieces."
    2) Bridge customization, not bridge packs. Let us pick a general layout and adjust the color palette, console appearance, and chair types, as well as more ready room layout options.
    3) Customizable ground weapons, i.e. The aesthetic look of phaser dual pistols but they shoot antiproton bolts. For obvious reasons this would only apply to standard ground weapons.
    4) For the love of Q please revamp Plasma Ground Weapons. They look like demented Supersoakers right now.
    5) True Vanity Impulse and Deflector effects similar to Vanity Shields.
    6) A greater payout for hitting T6 Reputations. Currently it takes more time and resources to get from T5 to T6 than it does to get from nothing to T5. Make that grind really pay out at the end.
    7) Mirrorverse Refugee event similar to AoY/Delta/Gamma, complete with new Mirrorverse recruits for all factions.
    8) Independent Faction, because yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me!

Agreed; there is no good reason I can think of as to why this is not currently the case. I've put forth some ideas as to how it could be remedied here.

At least they are running lock box key sale now. Time to convert all my dil to Zen, buy discounted keys, and then depending on key pricing when the box drops decide to roll the dice or sell the keys for a greatly inflated EC cost and buy new ships.....NX Refit and TOS Dreadnought (ish) .......cryptic, here's my wallet! Def wish they hadn't BOTH been lockbox ships though.....literally I hate that they aren't account unlock, otherwise I'm all for them. The rarity, the price on the open market, all that is fine, but really really really annoying that they are character specific.

2:04 is what I was describing, but even when the enterprise fires you can see what I was talking about, there's just two sets of shots since the constitution class is equipped with dual phaser banks

I have a sizeable amount of lobi left over from my JJ and Prime Connie exploits, and I also have enough EC to buy the NX outright, so I have to do some thinking and decide if I want to open boxes for the weapons and additional lobi, or just spend the EC

Personally, I am more of a fan of the Galaxy-X compared to the Galaxy. The TOS 3 nacelle dread and TOS Connie have always been ships I have liked as well. The Galaxy-X brought a lot of extra cash into STO back in the early days. It was originally a ship awarded for referrals, that some people actually created and subscribed to multiple accounts to earn.

While I have a sizeable amount of lobi, it's still not enough for the ship, so if I want to go that route I'll have to open some boxes anyway, just have to do the math to see how much that would cost
