I'd love to see Picard on Risa, during the Summer event, and if we stand and block his sun, or splash him we get scolded, and then he gives us an archeology themed mission.

The Instititute for Toupological Studies spent years and tens of billions of dollars attempting to prove Shatner wore a toupee. They were never able to find any definitive evidence, therefore once must conclude Shatner never wore a hairpiece of any kind.
Now, wearing a very weird bathing suit? That's another story....
The most epic would be to have them both at the same time. We do a mission into the Nexus where we work with the "echoes" of Kirk and Picard that would still be there. Bonus points if we could get Guinan as well.

For Kirk, going into the Nexus and seeing his remnant there would be awesome. Much better than Time Travel.
As for Picard, either himself as Ambassador in the timeline, or through a time travel event similar to Yesterday's Enterprise that alters history and causes a somewhat interesting new universe to experience for a mission or an entire arc.
Locutus from alternate universe.
Keep Shatner as far away from STO as possible.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

I don't know if that would work out. If I remember Generations correctly, as it has been years, Guinan's echo said she was left behind because she had been pulled out against her will by the Enterprise-B. Kirk and Picard left willingly. So its possible that there actually isn't an echo of them in the Nexus. But there would still be one of both Guinan and even Soren.
I can't take it anymore! Could everyone just chill out for two seconds before something CRAZY happens again?!

Use them both (reuses footage even if you like) as holodeck command simulation and training. they can offer advice to the Captain much like a certain bartender used to do. Also it would let you lead in to using Sisko etc for the same purpose. Fun
As in either or both is only in this game as the victim of a particularly hienous murder. STO has gotten on just fine without either one appearing and sucking the entire budget dry for the next two fiscal years. Don't need 'em. Don't want 'em. I view threads on this topic as the worst form of sucking up to two of the most overrated Captains in all of Star Trek. One was a womanizing cowboy who was allowed to break the rules any time he liked. The other was either a posturing moralizer who told everyone else far too often how they were all doing it wrong. While ignoring his own problems and faults. Or, he was a victim of the Borg or the Cardassians who we're all supposed to pity and empathize with. "Poor Jean-Luc. Your life is soo hard! Killing your best friend while having the hots for his widow. How awful for you!"
If we're gonna have a Captain in STO, then I very much hope it is Avery Brooks/Benjamin Sisko. Now there, there was a Captain!
A six year old boy and his starship. Living the dream.

Chastising Kirk for breaking rules and then praising Sisko despite him manipulating the Romulans to enter the Dominion War with Garak, risking TRIBBLE the timeline just to get Kirk's autograph, TRIBBLE Mirror Jadzia, rendering a planet inhospitable to humans and blackmailing Quark (and Garak) on some occasions...
And before someone mentions it, I'm not spitting on Sisko (in fact, I find him quite awesome for several reasons (and one of them is the manipulation of the Romulans due to being a glorious irony), like I find all the other captains for certain and different reasons), just pointing out that none of the captain is without flaws.
In the year of disaster that has been 2409 to 2410 the President of the Federation strongly recommends that Admiral Quin retire. His letter is on the President's desk the next day.
The President begs Picard to return to service as the Head of Starfleet... He refuses and leaves on an unexpected archaeology trip.
Being the hero our character is the President calls us to his office where he personally requests our help in finding and convincing him to take the post.
We then must locate Picard, convince him to take the job, and bring him back to his post at ESD while enemies of the Federation plot to stop us along the way... Finally we get to see Picard take his place at the desk on ESD...
It's a whole season waiting to happen. ***EDIT: I meant season not episode.
I never said the Sisko was without flaws. He is linear, after all. But he is still the Emissary as well.
I just get tired of all the, "We want Kirk! We want Picard!" nonsense around here. Both actors would probably be horribly expensive. Shatner has already said never a very long time ago. Stewart would probably be unavailable unless there was a way to tie in his appearance in STO with the next XMen film. We already have Kirk in game. Isn't this what Agents of Yesterday is supposed to be all about? Cryptic decided to use the player's voice instead of Shatner's.

I would prefer going into the nexus and having the opportunity to shoot him over and over again. Should be a pretty good stress reliever.

There is no remnant of Kirk in the Nexus. He left with Picard. The only reason there was a "copy/echo" of Guinan was due to her being transported out of the Nexus. You would have to time travel to a period before Picard entered the Nexus in order to see Kirk there.
The whole idea of the Nexus was an interesting concept, executed abysmally.
Not too sure about that. Guinan says that time has no meaning in the Nexus. So you wouldn't have to go back in time to enter the Nexus to see Kirk. Really, the poor execution of the idea of the Nexus leaves a ton up for debate and for playing around with. I personally had viewed her brief statements as implying that anyone that enters the Nexus leaves an 'echo' of themselves there since time has no meaning there. You're either always there or never there, nothing in between.
Either way, the THOUGHT behind it is that "Time travel" is seemingly often done. It'd be nice to have ways of incorporating long gone characters in a way that isn't simply "I went into the past". That's one of the reasons I loved Yesterday's Enterprise... it wasn't traveling into the past, it was the past coming to the present.
I'm curious, just how much is the budget for STO for the next two years? How did you come across this information?
I could be coy or snarky here. But to do either would be disrespectful to someone I think highly of. I am speculating. However, the speculation is based upon the overhead of one of my friend's work. He is an indie game designer/producer whom no one has ever heard of. Who has also published quite a few games no one has ever heard of or played, lol. But he does well enough to support himself by making and playing games. I admit to a bit of jealousy here.

Kirk and Picard had already left, so no, they are no longer in the Nexus. Time has no meaning for you once you are in there.
Of course they are no longer there. But they are. Because 'already' implies a time frame of before and after an event... which makes no sense if time has no meaning. Guinan's exact quote is "Time has no meaning here." she didn't say "for you" or "once you're here" or "only while you're here" etc.
Being that the entire thing isn't well fleshed out, there are many interpretations one can take on the reality inside the Nexus.
The Nexus. It is 2410 after all, which is the year the Nexus is supposed to return to our neck of the galactic woods. (Generations was in 2371, and Data said the ribbon circles the galaxy every 39.1 years.)

now that said, I think there are WAY better things for STO to spend money on than either of these two.
