today they posted this infographic for consoles:
http://www.arcgames.com/en/games/xbox/star-trek-online/news/detail/10230033
it says there are 1.1 mil captains, and 2.7 mil bridge officers. that is less than 3 bridge officers per captain. does this mean the majority of that 1.1mil stopped playing very early? because don't you get more than 3 bridge officers pretty early in the missions?
Comments
It's probably a combination of alts, and people who did give up because they decided they didn't like the gameplay.
I did that with Marvel Heroes a couple of years ago before returning to it this year, and I didn't get too far into Paths of Exile before wandering away from it.
When you think about it though, that's probably 400-600,000 people who at least tried the game. Not bad for less than 2 months.
Append: Wow, me and my crew are in the minority... make more scientists!!
Another Append: Seeing the Odyssey from the front... makes it look even dumber. And that thing was fan-designed? That's got to be some kind of BS, it's too stupid looking to be fan made.

#LegalizeAwoo
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch."
"We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"
That's pretty self-evident.
If you figure everyone gets at least 2 doing the tutorials, then that leaves 500,000 bridge officers for the people actually playing the game past level 10. Which probably means about 50,000 people are actually playing the game
Can't say I'm surprised...was so worth it them porting it to consoles...means what...if we split it down the middle...25k per console.
But even 25K per console isn't exactly a small figure. I would say Neverwinter is hovering around those numbers, and most likely so is ESO, Warframe and quite a few other multi-player games on console. Its a very healthy number of steady players.
Yeah but how many of those other games are getting slow to no support and suffering lots of game breaking bugs?
Cryptic couldn't even manage to develop a good PC version of the game...why anyone would expect them to develop anything good now split 3 ways is beyond me.
Plus those numbers don't say how many of those 25k are actually active...just says that 25k actually made it beyond the first few levels.
Well it's simple...each is smaller than the next...they showed Feds all the love since the start thus they're the most popular...KDF has a lot less options than Feds but the RR has even less than the KDF.
On console. Once your romulan character hits lv50, you will be unable to use any available skill and specialization points that you have earned. Many people have stopped using romulans due to this and many will not play as them due to this. This and man, many, many, MANY other bugs have existed upon release for console.
Yeah PC numbers are pretty similar.

What do you want bet maybe they did and upper management thought they could just do a fast 'fix it' patch? (But said patch took longer to get Microsoft/Sony approval?) Either way, just shows how messed up it must be to work for Cryptic where quality is job 42 it seems.
Job 1? - Releasing whatever you have in whatever condition you have on the advertised street date, then getting someone to make the Podcast rounds saying - "STO is the best game ever, and the Players love it."
PWE ARC Drone says: "Your STO forum community as you have known it is ended...Display names are irrelevant...Any further sense of community is irrelevant...Resistance is futile...You will be assimilated..."
actually in term of relative numbers I'm fairly sure consoles have more kdf players. maybe even alot more.
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
Nah...I think Job 1 is releasing whatever content that can monetize
But this is an infographic for consoles that was released after about 1.5 months from launch. So there is no bias as far as the lack of Klingon or Romulan development is concerned. It clearly shows that people are more interested in playing Feds over Klingons or Romulans and it has absolutely nothing to do with there being a lot less options. I seriously doubt that the majority of players researched all the available options in each of the various factions and based their faction on that. After all, most of the console players are apparently not even getting to level 10 to worry about endgame ships so they just decided on whatever faction they wanted to play for about an hour or two.
Also, why is science so low? It's the most fun career.
But the OSes of the PS4 and XBOne are completely different. That's like saying that since Linux runs on PC hardware, it should be a no brainer to port STO to Linux. (Or support the Mac. We know how that went.)

My point being that this game hasn't lasted this many years if people aren't playing it. There is new content still being created for the pc and that stuff should eventually make its way to console.
