Cryptic you dropped the ball on this one. There is a certian outside website selling them for 195 bucks a pop. Wow Cryptic thats a 195 bucks that YOU are losing every time someone buys one there. Should have made it a C-store charecter locked item for at least 60 bucks a pop. You would have made money hand over fist instead of an outside rip off artist getting that revenue. Way to go Cryptic ....

No idea I was curious to see what those scum bags were charging.
You know damn well they don't.
They are dirty, and the players are dumb enough to go for it. At the risk of being banned from the game. You will never see me go that route. That is just wrong.

Oh hell yes. But it also shows how badly this quasi-release was executed.
WoW essentially allows you to buy gold now anyway, for 20 bucks you get a game time token that you can then sell for 40K-ish gold, and the buyer essentially gets to play for free.
The main reason people got banned is the vast majority of gold sellers get their gold by compromising accounts, and I wouldn't be surprised if the same were true here.
No that would be the "spend $150 dollars to make enough EC to buy it" people who never bothered to mention the "if you can find a private seller willing to give you one for that much" part.
Not really. It's how it's always been. Gold sellers have always been a thing long before this. You do indeed get banned if you're caught, so it's not like it's an encouraging alternative.
For example, lets say from a website that rhymes with benign misery?
Just curious.
Runescape has something similar, called bonds, as well.
oh, I didn't know that. I quit playing like a year before MOP came out. At that time you couldn't do that. So for gold I would farm resources, craft, farm dungeons, and sell runs in them for others.

Unless of course Cryptic determines the ship was obtained from a 3rd party source in which case the account would be terminated.
If you really wanna rub it in Cryptic's face then go ahead and buy it. If you are truly ballsy, then make a thread within the forum that you were able to buy the ship for only S195 from site X and that you are currently using it in game.
lol, where do you think they got the T6 conny? Yeah they opened boxes which they bought...they just are more capable to do the math of making a profit with the unboxing game...which is actually possible, if done on a large scale.
Believe you me, from a cryptic's profit-oriented point of view, putting it in Zstore would have been much less profitable than with the R&D box.
Until the market drops out and they start selling for less.
At which point they rot on the exchnage, if they actually weren't that high as cheap bank space.
They used to go for 18,000,000.
They've been doing it with every lockbox and promo ship for years. The fact this activity has picked up in the last year is disturbing. As a F2P game there's no good way to prevent gold sellers from preying on innocent players, as they can just make as many throwaway accounts as they want to advertise their so called business. Hell... WoW still has the occasional problem of gold sellers and scammers, and WoW is still a subscription game. Sure you can play 1-20 for free, but a free account has a LOT more restrictions.
Anyways... the only way to fight the gold sellers is to report them and let Cryptic handle it. Do NOT use their services. Just report and move on. Its not worth losing your entire account over, let alone any real money.
