Part of the reason why I included the Vo'quv in the list is because the Klingons need a T6 carrier (Federation players have gotten theirs - despite carriers originally being a Klingon shtick). Also, as many of you will have gathered by now, this list is by no means conclusive, it only includes what I heard/read the most often.
I actually posted an idea for T6 science vessels in @reyan01's recent Nova thread, it could solve the problem of Klingon and Romulan players not having proper science vessels of their own.
I just had an idea and I have to write this down. Call me stupid, but this could make a lot of people happy if the devs did this.
I'm talking about a 9-pack of T6 science vessels. They did something like this back when they brought the Dyson Science Destroyers, and kinda when they brought the T6 flagships, but I'm thinking differently here.
The pack would be based on the first three specializations (Intel, Command, Pilot) and would bring T6 upgrades of the Vesta, the Luna and the Nova. Along with these, it would bring Klingon and Romulan versions of each.
The first ship could be a Multi-Mission Intel Explorer (Vesta) with the Intel ship abilities (Gather Intel, Expose Vulnerability etc.) and a Cmdr. Sci/Intel slot, the second a Reconnaissance Command Science Vessel (Luna) with Command Battlecruiser abilities and a Cmdr. Sci/Command slot, and the last (and most important one for the thread) a Pilot Science Vessel (Nova) with Pilot Escort abilities and a Cmdr. Sci/Pilot slot.
Then just add KDF/Rom versions and they finally get dedicated science vessels. The original Fed ships get visual upgrades.
I don't know on which ships the KDF/Rom versions should be based on, though.
Anyone have ideas for the Fed ship class names?
EDIT: Alternatively, the could update the Nebula instead of the Luna.
^ Good point about the Vesta; I didn't know there wasn't already a T6 version of it. There should definitely be one, 'cause that's a damn good ship.
Thanks Indeed she is.
Pound for pound and with console set, its the best damn PvP ship ever.
I troll so hard with that thing.
It was rough for a while dealing with all the phys/shield bypass cheese, but the Shielded Datacore (+50 Phys Resist) gave her new life.
The comments I get when I feedback peoples Kinetic attacks is just damn priceless. Not to mention I'm still in a T5U lol with no specialization seating. It really is glorious.
However, I do love the Nebula as well @markhawkman
A fine fine ship. I'd buy a T6 version without question.

Well, as desperate as I am to see a T6 Nova, the truth is what this game really needs is more cruisers.
I mean, the lack of cruiser options at T6 is criminal! How dare they only give us:
Intel Cruiser
Fleet Intel Cruiser
Three Command Cruisers
The Exploration Cruiser
The Fleet Exploration Cruiser
The Advanced Heavy Cruiser
The Fleet Advanced Heavy Cruiser
The Dreadnought Cruisers
The Fleet Dreadnought Cruisers
The Battle Cruiser
The Fleet Battle cruiser
The three Flagship Cruisers
The KT Command Cruiser
The 23rd Century Light Cruisers
This is disgraceful! There are no-where near enough! Give us another one immediately Cryptic!
Thankfully, this game isn't defining its faction by ship class. If it did, Science Vessels and Escort faction members would now complain that they are underappreciated and get practically no stuff made for them.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
If I could vote for three, it'd be Ha'nom/Varanus/Nebula, but I guess if only one Varanus it is....
I would vote Varanus, but that thing is out-of-date even compared to its compatriots... and they didn't even bother with it when they buffed the other C-Store Science Vessels waaaaaaaay back around Delta Rising (or any time since). A simple T6 update wouldn't make the Varanus good, it would need a full-scale revamp to even belong in the tier.
A Gorn Science Vessel set of ships could work (using the Phalanx and Varanus to make a 3-piece set, going by Ferengi/Risian/etc. grouping logic), but not if the T6 version is hobbled by the flaws of the T5. The last thing the KDF needs is another prop to parade around as evidence that Science Vessels don't sell.
As to a T6 Vesta... isn't that the role filled by the Eternal?
Then there's the Vo'quv, which wasn't updated when they launched the Jupiter (or thrown out a month later, like the Avenger -> Mogh release), so that's not likely either. A T6 Kar'Fi would be even better, but the long-standing invisibility issues probably eliminate it as a candidate... unless they use selling T6 to justify fixing the model.
Hrm... the things I'd want to see at T6 I'm pessimistic about the implementation or their likelihood of even happening. I vote Other. (I actually clicked Vo'quv, since it's the closest thing on the list to what I'd want. )
With each passing day I wonder if I stepped into an alternate reality. The Cubs win the world series. Donald Trump is President. Britain leaves the EU. STO gets a dedicated PvP season. Engineers are "out of control" in STO.
As to a T6 Vesta... isn't that the role filled by the Eternal?
Not really, as the Eternal cannot use the Vesta's consoles and cannot equip the Aux DHCs. It is not a "true" T6 version of the Vesta. It also cannot use a Vesta skin.

This seems to be the poll's result so far, apparently we need MOAR CRUUUUUIIIIISSSSSSEEEEEERRRRRRRRZZZZZZZ
Nah, I really agree with you, @reyan01 , the last thing we need right now is another cruiser, although the T6 Sovereign is long overdue. Not really helping the two of us, though, as we want certain science vessels *cough*Nova*cough*Vesta*cough*

Problem on this is the licensing. Can't really do a "derivative upgrade" on it cause it'll still stomp on Rademaker's rights, and last I knew there was... bitterness... between the two camps that would block future licensing agreements...
Would have been nice if the Eternal came with "faction appropriate" Aux DHCs, but cannons have been... BFaWed off their "top billing" in the meta, and with the recent boosts to Science damages everywhere, the mix might get to be too... powerful... for them.
Detecting big-time "anti-old-school" bias here. NX? Lobi. TOS/TMP Connie? Super-promotion-box. (aka the two hardest ways to get ships) Excelsior & all 3 TNG "big hero" ships? C-Store. Please Equalize...

That's not to say it can't fill the same general role though, it's just not the same ship.

I never heard of any "bitterness" between Cryptic and Rademaker, I actually read in his blog that he was honored that his design would be featured in STO. Judging from the posts in his blog (which were made long before the first expansion), CBS was the problem in the negotiations. But now that they have apparently softened up on Kelvin Timeline stuff and an endgame Constitution class starship (I have to stress this since it still boggles my mind), I have high hopes for a T6 Vesta.
EDIT: Is there proof for the aforementioned "bitterness" (articles, blog posts, etc.)?

Same with Klingon.

Sovereign looks to have a big fat lead. I like the Sovy, but I have to go with my heart. I went with Vesta
