DAMN IT!!! Why do they have to give away the steam runner and andorian light cruiser?! Damn it always wanted a steam runner. And well also the R&D pack, well we finally got what we wanted. But ofcourse behind a paywall.

    While I'm not "dying" at this point...
    I do agree that the recent PWE/Cryptic monetary and item procurement decisions that have come to pass, have certainly dulled my enjoyment of the game.

    I'm a bit unhappy with myself for being delusional enough to think that my investment in the AoY Pack, would possibly include a few more, particular items, when Sept. 8th rolled around.

    It's time for me to step back and reevaluate just how much time and money I will be devoting to the game from this point on.

    Certainly for the foreseeable future, both will be completely curtailed until such time that my disagreeable temperament improves.

    Hopefully, watching for and getting more info about "Star Trek: Discovery" on the internetz will soften the blow of my current disappointment.

    Hey would of been fun to have. I like to collect ships from time to time. Would of been fun to tool around in for a bit.

    I'm having fun, so I'll keep playing. When I'm not, I won't.

    I'd have liked to have had the Andorian Light Escort for leveling my last few fed characters but my TOS captain will probably be my last fed for awhile so I'm not missing anything except access to non-retro blue phasers.

    The Andorian Light Escort isn't available to TOS Captains even though it has been around since at least the 22nd Century.

    The Steamrunner and Andorian Light Escort are free giveaways to anyone that plays the console version of STO in the first couple of weeks. Xbox One gets the Steamrunner while Playstation 4 gets the Andorian Light Escort.

    You could buy the Steam beginner's pack and get both the T1 with a universal console and a T5 one, and both costumes are usable on most of the other escorts too.

    Been considering getting it myself, just not interested in Federation characters ATM.

    Steam pack was yanked off along with the Legacy of Romulus and Delta Packs. Apparently there was an exploit that somehow let people get the items for free.

    More like they were yanked because of the console offers.
    Would not put it past them to do that.

    Seriously as someone who own a ps4 I laugh at the thought of a tier 1 light andorian escort. TIER 1? Really? Hell you will be a MINIMUM of lvl 5 by the time you get done with the tutorial before you can even choose a ship. Making it useless for anything after level 10

    You see a few in the Dominion War and First Contact iirc.... but they get all of 1-2 seconds screen time

    The Steamrunner was in First Contact, along with the Norway. Both ships weren't really seen after that though. The Norway's CG model was lost, and the Steamrunner... don't really know actually.

    Exactly.

    I love the TOS Constitution, but the T1 one was very short-lived fun for me when I tried the game out on my laptop. I'm looking forward to the PS4 version of the game since my computer did not handle this game very well.

    It's a nice promotional item, but as you said, something that is T1 will not be very useful for very long at all.

    A free T1 starter ship would be more enticing to new players than veteran players.

    It's a good way to get new people to try this game when it arrives on consoles. Cryptic is currently very interested in making the console launch successful. I've benefitted from numerous free giveaways since I began playing STO on PC. Nice to see them give away something to the console players from the start. AFAIK, these ships are still available in the C Store. If I want them, I can go purchase them from there. And they will apparently remain so.

    I have too many ships already, I think. Most of them spend most of their time laying up in ordinary with their crews beached on half pay. Not having free access to these ships isn't going to affect my enjoyment of this game at all. Not really interested in acquiring the T6 versions of the iconic ships either. They look nice and they have some good features. However, I am burnt out on buying or trying to acquire the newest shiny in this game. Most of my RL Currency purchases for the past year have been spent on making my current ships and crews better.

    Pretty sure I'll try to buy/acquire them sometime in the future. But right now I am seriously fatigued on purchasing/acquiring new ships.

    For PC, the T1 Steamrunner was only available via the old Steam Starter Pack. The T1 Andorian ship was a promo thing for supporting Neverwinter or something when it first came out. Some sort of founders pack deal I believe. Neither one is currently available to anyone in the C-Store like the T1 NX is.

    Really? Didn't know that. That makes these castoffs which they couldn't give away before so they are recycling them for the Console players.

    Well... there's talk that the Steam Starter Pack, which was only available through Steam, was pulled because of some exploit. The Andorian ship was pretty much a promo. However, those of us who did get them when they were available still have access to them. I got the Steam pack and still have access to both the T1 and T5 as well as the Steam Powered title across all my Fed characters today.

    Glad I got the Steam Pack originally a few years back- wasn't aware that it's not available now as a purchasable item. I'd have advised to spend the $20 and simply add the redeem code to your account.

    That said, the Steamrunner T5 escort is actually very comparable to a lot of the other escorts at that level- and even without tons of customization options, I find myself bringing it out of dry dock on occasion. :smile:

    Being critical doesn't take skill. Being constructively critical- which is providing alternative solutions or suggestions to a demonstrated problem, however, does.
