in Star Trek Online General Discussion
It seems the xbox one players will get the Steamrunner class free I've been wanting to fly her looks like i'll be able to now

    although it is tier 1 I was expecting tier 2 or 3

    For two weeks after the launch of STO console...

    - Xbox One players will get the T1 Steamrunner.

    - PS4 players will get the Tier 1 Andorian Light Escort.

    - PlayStation Plus users will get the Wrath of Kahn uniform.

    The problem is... they aren't exactly "exclusive" items.

    I have the Steamrunner on PC. Its available in the Steam Starter Pack. Not only that, you also get a T5 one as well.
    The Andorian Light Escort was a promo thing with Neverwinter I believe.

    It's exclusive in the sense that those items will only be available to console players for two weeks after STO console launches. Additionally, XBone and PS4 players get a T1 ship that is exclusive to that particular console.

    And PS4 players who also subs to Play Station Plus gets another bonus item for the 1st two weeks.

    I had a sad when I saw that on the main News page, since I've wanted the Andorian Light Escort for PC for ages and even started a thread awhile back asking Cryptic to let me pay them cash monies for it :(

    You know what would be even 'kooler'? If a lifetime subscription on PC meant a lifetime subscription on console as well.

    I bought the pack last year. The T5U version is still my default endgame ship. Properly outfitted its as maneuverable as any of the pilot ships with enough firepower to chew up whatever you point it at

    The T5-U Steamrunner is lovely. I kind of enjoy the challenge of working around an Ensign Science bridge officer, and it's still my default escort option.​​

The Tier 1 Andorian Light Escort looks almost identical to the Tier 5 versions and comes with its own version of Wing Cannons, but was only available for purchasing the Heroes of the North pack from Neverwinter. Have absolutely no idea if the ship is still available.

    So it will be the only ship that far more Playstation 4 players have over the PC players.

    I don't think so. I had gotten it as a seperate thing, and they gave me a code I had to put in on the STO site, like how some promo codes work. I used to run the disc copy of STO, and then I just made a steam link so it wasn't a Steam copy. Still have the discs too.

    I can't seem to find the Steam pack on Steam anymore though. Maybe its because I already own it? Doesn't make sense to me since I also have the 7th Legion DLC for Defiance and I can still see that. In hindsight, 7th Legion probably wasn't a good choice. Not really anything new added with that in terms of content. Just another rep and some items unlocked for use along with costumes.

    From what I understand, the Steam pack was discontinued because of an exploit along with all the other packs. Details here:

    Summer events, Winter events, Anniversary events (STO and Trek), Uniforms, ships, ships, items...

    Granted there are some replays involved, but those items are still free and outside of the Lottery.

    So big deal its a lousy T-1 useless really and as you say looks just like the far better t-5 Kumari set. How many still use a t-1 anyway? Only T-1 I still hav eis the starter Utility cruiser from AOY just cause it's different looking.

    I wish there was a new way to get the andorian light escort its the only T1 for the feds that i need and it is an awesome looking ship and its an excellent loadout but i will probably still use my Steamrunner for the Steam starter pack (just hope i can still use it on any new characters i create) Also a T6 Steamrunner would be an interesting ship maybe a pilot ship with a lieutenant science station for more interesting combos i would buy that in a heart beat along with a T6 nebula.

    Just make the T1 Andorian Ship a bonus if you buy the 3-Pack, just like you get the Tal'Kyr Shuttle if you buy the Vulcan Dkyr class ship.

    Just because you don't use it, doesn't mean others won't use it. As you said, you still have the starter Utility Cruiser from AoY just cause it's different looking. Others would want the Andorian Light Escort because it is different looking, tired of being limited to regular Starfleet ships on their 5th Starfleet alt, want a challenge with a different Tier 1 ship for endgame content, or the Andorian Light Escort fits their character's backstory.

    The Tier 1 ship is what starts the person's journey in STO. We might go through a ton of Tier 5 or Tier 6 ships for a specific Captain, but there is only one Tier 1 ship.

    This is my opinion why the hell even bother with giving TIER 1 ships I mean by the time you get through the tutorial mission you are only going to be using the ship for five levels a the most.

    Incentive for people to actually start a character. ALso to attract NEW players.
