We didn't think some people were so stupid that we needed to explain to them that we meant the TOS Connie.
Yeah, both JJ content and endgame Connie were AGAINST THE RULES. They weren't going to happen. Then the rules changed. But what was said at the time was accurate.
I always said getting JJ content would require a second licensing agreement with Paramount in addition to the existing one with CBS, which seemed unlikely given that CBS and Paramount weren't on friendly terms at the time. Things changed. Still, what I said at the time was accurate.
We still don't have anything I'd consider an endgame Constitution, which is TOS, TMP, or Exeter at T6. Whatever the hell that JJ thing is, it's not a Constitution.
I just don't get this logic. it looks a bit different from the TOS Constitution as does the TMP why is it not a Constitution if the TMP is?
By the way. I hated everything i heard about the new movies when the first one came out too. The Enterprise looked too futuristic and I thought the movie was going to ruin everything that was already established. but I bought the dvd and watched it anyways. once I learned it was an alternate timeline I got over my hate of it and accepted it.
I am curious to the point that questions is has the JJ ship ever been canonally been mentioned as a Constitituion class? The timeline has changed, including the development of starships, its very possible that what is known as the Constitution class was left abandoned at the blueprint level, and this Enterprise could be from a seperate class, possibly even the Enterprise class, as we have not seen another ship like it (to where we saw sister Connie class ships in TOS frequently).

He will be untouched by plague or disease; no sickness shall blight him.
He shall have such tactics, strategies and machines that no foe will best him in battle.
He is my answer to cryptic logic, he is the Defender of my Romulan Crew.
He is Tovan Khev... and he shall know no fear."
It's a JJ-Connie, not the original TOS nor the TOS-movie Connie Refit.
So what you're saying is, of the wide variety of connies out there, including TOS Connies, TWOK era Movie Connies and Bad Robot Film Connies, the end-game Connie that is now in this game that people said would never have an end-game Connie is one of the types of Connies that has been an official part of the Star Trek franchise - the Kelvin Timeline Connie?

It's the *Abrams* Class Heavy Multi-Mission Cruiser. Call it what it is.
I just wish the Nacelles weren't so ugly. If they had gone with the one used on the Kelvin, I'd like the ship.

Federation characters may find themselves fortunate enough to win the Kelvin Timeline Heavy Command Cruiser [T6]. Also known as the Constitution-class, this formidable vessel is a true Command Cruiser in every regard, including the ability to utilize Inspiration mechanics, and coming standard with a Commander-rank Command Specialist Bridge Officer Seat.

Nope. It's a "Starship Class" just like the Prime Enterprise was until Picard called it a Constitution 20 years later from our point of view (of course the production staff and technical manuals all called in a Constitution, and there'd even been some signs put up on the set that would ultimately be illegible on screen but nothing we'd be able to spot).

Is that about the size of it?
You tell me when these 2 are at endgame levels.
Those are just two of the many different kinds of Constitution class ships in STO. What about the Vesper? The Excalibur? The Exeter?
2) we didn't say T6 connie was never coming...we said it will come when they are ready to shutter the doors and do their last bit of cash grab (along with a borg lockbox).

No, you're confusing that event with the playable Borg Cube.
Among other problems with the design, the Abrams Enterprise shares virtually nothing in common with a Prime Universe Constitution class in any variant or refit. Those are the ships people refer to as Constitution, JJPrize is something entirely different. Some people love it, others hate it, but neither would say it's the same thing.
can't the same thing be said about the TOS and the TMP Constitution? Also the Abrams Enterprise has two nacelles, a saucer and secondary hull. how is that "virtually nothing in common"?

By that standard, the Excelsior, Ambassador, Galaxy, Sovereign, Avenger, and Oddyssey along with a few others besides are all Constitution ships. Try again.
yes, but they're not because those in charge of Star Trek decided their names. They decide, not us. So the "JJPrize is a Constitution whether people like it or not, because they said it's a Constitution. it's just a more stylized version of the TOS anyways

With as many arbitrary lines as I've seen drawn by the usual suspects over which type of lockbox ship spells the definitive end times of STO, I kind of wish they'd release a playable Borg ship just to shut them up.
But who am I kidding, they'll just push the goal posts again.

Aside from the slightly chubby nacelles (which I don't mind), and the neck that stretches all the way to the shuttle bay (which drives me insane), I personally think it looks a lot like a proper modern redesign of the TOS version.
*yawn*... It's clearly recognizable as a Constitution-class. It's bigger, it's from a different timeline/universe/dimension/creative mind whatsoever. The only reason I can see why people deny that is because they hate the reboot-stuff altogether.
Aaaaaaaaaaand... yeah, I personally hate Voyager, Enterprise and all the TNG-movies. I do hate the weak, stupid scriptwriting and the huge (out-of-)character-problems they had. According to the reactions on the JJ-Constitution, I must be supposed to hate the Intrepid-class and Sovereign-class as well as Mogai and Scimitar now because I hated the Shows and movies they were featured in? Could it get any more Kindergarten than this?

They were part of the game's original Tier 2 Cruiser package but you knew that already.

I am sure this Bizarro-Verse ship is great for some millennials that got to grew up with it, and/or people into brew powered ships. It's just not for all, to have an "ale" of a time, with it. To say this is the droids... er ship we're looking for, require a higher level of Jedi mind control. Or a more drunken state of affairs. Possibly.

So let's count up how many Connies there are!
There's the T1 TOS Connie.
There's the T2 TMP Connie.
There's the T2 Vesper
There's the T2 Excalibur
There's the T2.5 Exeter
And NOW, there's the T6 Kelvin Timeline Connie.
That's a lotta Connies!
If we're lucky they'll get around to getting the other 5 in as playable at T6. The door is open now! If you'd set aside your blind internet level hatred of things you don't like, you'd see how much of an opportunity there is now. You'd see thread after thread allowed to discuss the topic freely. You'd see an actual T6 connie in existence (and one that took communication between Cryptic, CBS and Paramount to happen). You'd see a new show coming out. You'd see timeline jumping all over the place. You'd see the game poised to embrace it's 50th anniversary. You'd see all of this and you'd wonder at how close you are to your dream.
Or ...
You could continue to forum rage and hate on the new lockbox.
It's your choice really. Have fun whichever path you take.

As I said in another thread, I'm predicting for the 50th a Connie 3-pack that, in addition to three new variants, can use the Vesper, Exeter, and Excalibur skins, and if you buy all three you can use the TOS and TMP skins too. Maximum profit from what would absolutely be the best selling C-Store ship of all time.
To Clarify, at the time, we all heard from Cryptic, and from CBS (I forget which interview it was). where they said there would be no end game constitution, because it was Kirks ship. this was the information CBS released, and it's still in effect technically, because we don't have the REAL constitution, we have the three movie burnoff ship.
unfortunately, somehow, James T. Kirk survived the Kelvin attack. and technically the JJprize is Kirks ship....technically.
But to answer everyone, no, to be brutally honest, the JJprize is not the Constitution class we were all talking about, we wanted the genuine thing, we got a dang knockoff. one which defies all possibility of it being modern....I mean seriously 200 years of weapons research in 25 years? highly implausible, very much ludicrous.

They've torn apart that future Romulan ship. Not much more to it. Besides history is dramatically different because of variations in time changes, and other factors.
The Sphere Builders recruited the Klingons of the mid-23rd century to stop the Feds rather than the mid-22nd century Xindi, goodness knows what difference that made. Probably not much, but it's the perfect example of what's happened here.
