Cardassia and /or Ferenginar city adventure zone, playable Cardassian (probably in budle with cardie ships), Mark Alaimo voice-over for returning villain Dukat. Vote for Dukat in STO ;)

I don't play FPS, so :p I use RPG mode.

Well, If it played more like WoW and had enough attack abilities to get a good MMO rotation down (such as the various secondary fire functions all being abilities instead), I'd enjoy it as well.
I cycle kit powers so much that I don't need to worry that much. The trick, to me, is to NOT use the mouse unless I want to manually target something. All abilities have a bind, and I tap the numeric keypad to activate them.

Cryptic could have created their own thing set in the star Trek universe without **** with established lore too much and without desperately building everything around show references.

And strangely I've run into people who violently and vehemently feel that doing something "new" is "not trek" and has no place in STO.... because you know, they never did anything new on the shows.

The most memorable Star Trek games of all times - 25th Anniversary, Judgement Rites and A Final Unity - feel as if they're directly taken from the shows, but use very little actual show reference and all invent their own storylines. AFU even invented a whole Romulan client state so they could do a unqiue storyline and it felt organic. One just has to be sensible and try to let one's creation harmonize with the established universe, not radically smash into things. The Deferi were a good idea, a shame they almost immedeatly dropped it.

Good god what is this community's obsession with additional factions when the developers have demonstrated over and over again they can't even be bothered to support the existing factions, aside from Feds, as it is.

Because some of us are happy (or at least satisfied) with how they've handled the KDF and Romulans. You apparently have higher standards, which isn't a bad thing.

But some of us have lower standards and lowered expectations for STO.
I certainly wish there was more KDF and Romulan stuff (more KDF than Romulan, to be honest). But ultimately, I have a faction story-line, I can join all the faction-agnostic stuff, some cool Klingon characters exist, stuff from the shows was used to tell an interesting story, and I have a bunch of KDF ships I can fly. Only thing really rounding things up by now is a Tier 6 Vor'Cha and perhaps a Tier 6 K'tinga.

Still hoping we get a expansion or even a small scale event in the future, that takes us into Undine space to explore a truly unknown frontier, and then having a lockbox go with it. Could have it start with several Undine ships breaking thru into our universe near the main faction worlds, with them being quite heavily damaged by unknown weapon energy signatures. Which could than prompt us to explore into the Undine space for the cause of such strange behavior, while also seeking out what in Undine fluidic space would have been able to do such damage to them, and have come up so quickly to rival them in power in their own universe.

Conversely It could start with a massive structure or fluidic space anomaly phasing in an out of several of the sectors in the alpha an beta quads, which would bring alot of attention from all three factions to investigate these places it phased into. Than it could be our captains investigating the effects of this structure or anomaly from fluidic space has on these areas of space, as well as the worlds in these areas, before later on traveling into fluidic space to seek out the reasons for this thing to be phasing in an out of our own space an fluidic space. This could lead into events of what happened after the Undine arc was finished an the time we spent in the delta, as well as during the Iconian wars, while also nice time to see what other beings might exist in their universe they missed.

They dropped it because there was an absolutely massive backlash on the forums because Cryptic dared to add anything new to Star Trek lore.

People made it clear, they don't want to see 100% new things, they want to see things from the TV shows that they have a connection and investment in.

A shame, really. While I appreciate the odd reference, easter egg or nod here and there I'd welcome to play an original, unqiue story and not just walk in the footsteps of the show's characters all the time.

Oh, for sure. I'm all for additional KDF and Romulan content, particularly when it comes to things like some more science ships. I won't even say that things are perfect the way they currently are.

But I'd rather see a Star Trek Online with additional factions, no matter how thin the content is compared to the Federation.

STO is pretty much just a queue for CCA and ISA at the endgame anyway no matter what faction you are.

Gamma quad expansion idc if they give us cardis anymore , but would like maybe a 2nd dominion war? the stage is set for it, we released the females founder who doesnt like the people in the alpha and beta quads, she seen a old dominion fleet bring the feds to their knees and take ds9.

and ontop of that they sent an expiditionary force with old dominion vessels to aid against the iconians, i would think this in itself would embolden the dominion to launch a second war, thinking the time is right for invasion.

They should totally bring back Rene Auberjonois as Supreme Leader Odo, who congratulates you as you level up. I'd love to see just how much the Dominion has changed since his return to the Great Link, and the consequences of the female changeling's return.

I agree I like seeing events and even hallmarks to things that happened in the history of star trek, but I also want to see new things too that have not been seen in the series yet. Even seeing some of the less star treky story lines as some like to call them makes the setting an game feel more alive an interesting, and kinda like the series as you have a feeling of things changing an discovering things. Though i will say it is funny that such a backlash lead to even more backlash of people complaining about how they handled the Iconian an temporal story lines. I hope we see some more sto dev created sto exclusive content like the Deferi.

I personally came into sto to explore an see things in the star trek universe that the shows had not yet mentioned. explored, or just barely touched on. To see explore brand new areas an places that might hold alot of interesting things that could be more of the legacy of sto on the star trek lore.

I don't think The Dominion would try to invade us, they know we could just unleash another virus on them or something.

Both parties seem content to just stay in their respective spaces.

If a war does start, it will likely be due to a third party maybe the Hur'q) antagonizing both sides, cvausing a brief conflict only for both parties to realize they have been dupped.

Psst theres also T'Ket still out there? maybe she is the one pushing the dominion to war , giving them iconian technology and at the end of the 2nd dominion war arc, we finally settle it with t'ket .

    T'Ket is out there yeah.

We know the Iconians had servitor races in the Gamma quadrant hiding the gateways from The Dominion. The Hur'q could be that servitor race, working with T'ket as part of some plan to try to finish her attempt at killing all life in the galaxy.

Really the Hur'q are the only Gamma Quadrant race besides the Dominion that could really be a badguy. all the other known GQ races are basically subservient to the Dominion, if not officially part of it.

I would think only the dominon would have the resources to pull it off, and if you factor in lets say t'ket giving the dominon iconian gateway tech, they would not even need the wormhole.

the hur'q would be a stretch because something would have had to happen t the dominion, that would make us go to their aid and put us in direct conflict with them, it would be also likley the hur'q and dominion ally together and see the alpha/beta quads as a new place to expand.

My money would be t'ket pushing the dominion to war, feeding them iconian tech and embldening them to fight, in the end we confront t'ket and settle the score once and for all.

This would not only bring the dominion and federation/alliance closer but would tie up the last loose end of the iconian war.

I'd love a Gamma Quadrant expansion, but I also agree with the ground combat needing an overhaul. It's pretty mechanical & dull, to be blunt. Very predictable in every sense of it. What needs done at bare minimum is studying how other games do ground combat, and applying some of that to enemies to be far more varied in their spawning & actions. I'd be pretty happy with just that fixed up.

Quite a lot of votes and very defined opinions. I was expecting more diversity. It appears people definitely want the Gamma Quadrant, player housing and exploration, as well as more faction specific content for Romulans and Klingons.
