    Please say it aint so!

If they haven't announced it yet and nobody's seen any evidence to the contrary on Tribble... I'd say it's too late for any new TOS races to be included before the event starts and probably not before it ends. They're certainly not going to include races that wouldn't have been part of the Federation in the 23rd century, so no Liberated Borg, and no Talaxians. No Fed Klingons, or Ferengi. And I guess they don't want a bunch of cat-people running around, so no Caitians.

4 species only is the safe bet.

Indeed, they said several times in interviews they made a conscious choice to limit it to the four founding species.

It's just as well... I already can't decide between human and andorian and now I'm considering adding vulcan back to my list even though I already have a main vulcan character. 'Cause in order to Prosper as a Temporal Agent, I'm gonna have to Live Long.

Yeah, I think I need to go with Human for once. My two mains are already Andorian and Vulcan.

Holy cow, you made my day Cryptic Studios, I bought the AoY Pack like way before this announcement was made and I am grateful I did that.

As well, I enjoyed the entire Storyline on Tribble, I will enjoy it even more doing this grind, which is extremely nice. At least you only have to do 6 of the 11 Commendation Areas. Since that would be a pain kinda.

I will enjoy grindin' everything in this list happily. :open_mouth:

Those rewards are most appealing, and I'd like to thank @crypticspartan for answering all the questions I had before I even got around to ask them! Thanks a bunch!

Now I just need to figure out a name for my new Temporal Recruit...

I too would like to thank @crypticspartan for patiently answering all our questions.

To be honest though if the news piece was more informative he wouldn't need to.

Has anyone else realized getting all those unlocks is gonna take at least a couple of months?
First goal, duty officer system unlock = Level 11
Second goal, getting the reputation system unlocked = level 50
Third goal, starting the spec point grind = Level 51
Fourth goal, unlocking the admiralty system = level 52
Fifth goal, unlocking all the episodes / missions = Level 60
Sixth goal, complete reputation systems = ?
Seventh goal, all three admiralty campaigns to tier 3 = ?
Eighth goal, three specializations maxed out = ?
Ninth goal, complete all duty officer commendation groups = ?

Figure on a week at least to get to level 30+ depending on bugs, (a hindrance, game-breaking or making it impossible to complete a mission / episode).

Side-note, any thought given to how much all these new characters are going to add to the lag in and around Starfleet Academy and Earth Spacedock?
I already crash-to-desktop everytime I try to transwarp to Sol, everytime I try to beam to either ESD or the Academy.
As for trying to do anything on ESD, well that is an exercise in patience.

I figure it'll take me about 3 to 4 days to get an AoY Toon to level 50 during my vacation next week.

But I usually don't have CTD's during new additions to the game and very rarely have a problem with lag.

With the Delta Recruit event, there were account-wide unlocks for our non Delta recruit characters. Are AoY characters going to be able to unlock additional perks for our non AoY characters as well? There is a tab for AoY at the Temporal Agent NPC on Tribble and just want to make sure.

Its the same person you got your Delta Recruit Rewards, it'll be a different tab. For the unlocks. At least.

Good, some of my questions was answered and what I wanted to hear. So I can now join in, as I hated to delete one of my current captains to make room. I spent too much time and resources on them.

I'm like some of the others. My Delta is at Lv50 and still hadn't done the rest of the Dominion Arc. She is currently mining Dil to get the Andorian ship weapons from the Dil store. Since she is in an Andorian Escort. I was wanting to get that out of the way before I get working on the story arcs.

Now lets get a T6 Connie and / or T6 Connie Refit released. My new Agent will really love it. But I already have the Excelisor on standby. When they hit Lv50.

Some will take longer. My Delta still hadn't finished the 2800 part of the Arc. So that is a long way to go. I will still create one, see it up to around Lv10 to see the starting story. Then back to my regulars. So this one will take just as long as my Delta.

Yeah, while we have Spartan around, I'll ask a question I'm pretty sure I know the answer to, just to be sure.

With Delta Recruiting, you didn't have to complete the tasks during the event - if you made the character during the event, they were a Delta Recruit forever and always, and could continue completing tasks and earning rewards after the event ended. Is this true of Temporal Recruit as well?

Expect answer is yes, especially given how long-term some of these goals are, but want to confirm.

Once you create a Temporal Agent; that character is a Temporal Agent permanently, and is always able to complete the unlocks.

    Oh thank the gods.
Duty Officer Commendations: Work toward reaching rank 4 commendations in every category of Duty Officer commendations. You’ll receive assortments of Temporal Investigator Duty Officers of increasing rarity, and when you reach rank 4 in six commendation categories you’ll receive a unique Temporal Investigator Duty Officer of Epic quality for all captains on your account!

Because that^ is going to take MONTHS to complete. Especially colonial and recruitment commendations.
    A) There aren't a lot of single assignments that award a large amount of colonial or recruitment CXP.

    B) A lot of recruitment assignments involve gaining new duty officers or trading a doff for another. It's a problem when your roster is completely full and you don't want to get rid of any doffs, and/or can't afford to buy more roster slots from the c-store. Some of those trade a doff for another doff assignment doesn't appear until after you complete specific assignment chains, that you find in sector space (which can be a bit of a problem; see C)

    C) Doff assignments in sector space have been messed up ever since the sector space revamp. I still find myself having to cross back and forth over sector block borders in order for the shipboard and sector timers to update the assignment lists. I've actually sat in a sector block and the assignment lists didn't update at all when the shipboard and sector timers rolled over. It isn't until you cross a border and back they update.

Hopefully Borticus can find time to take another look at the doff assignment system in the near future. I'll just continue making the best of things.

Since only Federation characters can be Temporal Agents, how does the duty officer account unlock (and any other faction restricted content that may be in there) work for Romulans and Klingons? Is there simply a faction-appropriate version of that reward available at their appropriate claim point (like the Delta Recruit bridge officer)?

There doesn't seem to be any kind of items or boffs from this event. It looks like it's all just account-wide bonuses for the reputation, R&D, duty officer, etc. systems, and traits. So nothing that would be faction specific.

The Photonic Engineering boff from the delta recruit event was an account unlock. It functions the same but it's physical appearance was based on your faction (and allied faction for Romulans), so it wasn't an issue to claim it on all current and future characters of any faction.

How long do we have to finish all this? If it's the opening 6 weeks, then you're out of your minds. Nobody can finish all of this in 6 weeks. If there is no time frame, fine. Sorry, but all of this just shows me more and more that you want us to abandon our mains and start all over again and again and again. The amount of time and resources that we're going to have to put into this character will force us to put our mains on hold if people intend to get these rewards in a decent amount of time. Not doing it with Delta Recruit 2.0+, again.

Once you have created a character that is a Temporal Agent; they are a Temporal Agent forever and will be able to continue to unlock rewards. The opening 6 week limitation is to create Temporal Agents, not finish them.

You can at least start one if you want. Play enough to see the starting story. This is what I'm planning to do. So I will only play mine until around Lv10.

Oh, I only plan on making one Temporal Recruit character since only one is needed to unlock rewards for all my other characters.

But someday my altitis will kick back in and I'll probably want to make another ToS style character. Or maybe a new Gorn. I would like a Tac Caitian as well, now that I think about it.

Unfortunately, as I said before, I'm limited to one additional character and that WILL be a Temporal Recruit. If the Devs would simply allow me to buy more character slots then everything would be great. :p

Although I know I'm in the minority, I will say that I'm disappointed that the new Delta recruit type event is restricted to making what amounts to "a slightly different version of a Federation character," something that doesn't appeal to me.
