Heinous images in STO event promotions

I was browsing the news section for annual events held by STO and came across the following: Star Trek Online: 4th Annual Shutup Wesley Event.

Take a close look at the image used to promote it:

  • Why is there a Freemason symbol known as the all-seeing eye at the top of the tree?
  • Why is there an upside-down star behind the tree—a symbol used by Satanic sects/cults?
  • The spread wings and the font, Gotenburg B Bold, created by a German typesetter Dieter Steffmann, resemble the Reichsadler and the fascist propaganda posters or magazine covers from WW2 Germany:

Additionally, I searched for Christmas events in STO and there's almost nothing official except the above annual event. Instead, there's some kind of substitute called "Q's Winter Wonderland". Where is the wonderful time of the year? Did Grinch steal Christmas in STO and Cryptic's offices? By contrast, there are very prominent Halloween event promotions that actually use the word "Halloween". Isn't that odd?

Of course, the people involved in running and promotion of the above annual event are free to explain themselves.

    hmm while not on subject ... I think we could use a TRIBBLE mission in STO. Maybe the Nah'kul are playing in WW2 (again)

    Like was said, ShutUpWesley is a fleet and they run that independent of anything in Cryptic. The Winter Wonderland is what is official Cryptic.

    ShutUpWesley isn't doing anything illegal, and those wings? I too thought they looked more like USAF wings than any satanic symbol. And yes, I know what AF wings look like, my dad was AF for 21 years.

    Are there really people with nothing better to do in their lives than latch onto the most ephemeral of connections and then shout at the rest of us about hidden agendas and secret conspiracies and undercover hate groups?

    @pwlaughingtrendy you might be tempted to just close this thread, but I implore you to look at the entirety of the OPs post history (which will take less than a minute...) and ask yourself, "how often have I seen someone BEGGING to be banned off the forums quite so aggressively as this toad?"

    I'm betting the answer you find yourself giving is "almost never -- BANNED"

    WOW, so much butthurt...seriously and the kind of shallow research on the symbol is also astonishing. I'd say obvious troll is obvious, but then again, there are idiots out there that are beyond measurement.

    I mean seriously, did you look up any other air force insignia, of any other country before making that assessment?

    OP, perhaps you should worry less about fleets you're not a part of and focus more on playing the game.

    And I don't necessarily disagree with your opinion that one might wonder about their choices of featuring certain historic persons in their sigs etc., it is, ultimately none of your or mine business and you should wonder about such things in private, not bring it to the forum and openly discuss it here.
