Can't Log in After Patch "Error 36"

Since this afternoon's patch I'm seeing this error. The launcher just reloads in a continual loop.

- I rebooted the PC; no change.
- I've launched the game client as administrator; no change.
- Found and deleted the file and directory "Microsoft.VC80.CRT" but it immediately regenerates.
- All game directories are set to read/write.
- There is a file called "GameClient.exe.deleteme" in the Live directory but I cannot delete it.
- I've tried stopping all Arc and STO related processes in the Task Manager but access is denied.

Any more ideas? I'm really not technical and this is about the last threshold of my support comfort level. :(

    Update: I decided to try reinstalling STO but I cannot uninstall the game because my PC can't find it. "Star Trek Online" doesn't appear anywhere in my currently installed programs list (although Arc does). Weird.

    TRIBBLE..Now I am scared..That is freaky TRIBBLE..Have you tried installing MS Visual C+ again???? Download it off the MS site and install or repair it..MAY help..
