The Ranger-class needs a longer neck (or an NX-refit skin). Will its console work on the T6 temporal battlecruiser or just the Ranger-class?
  • questeriusquesterius Member Posts: 8,505 Arc User
Interesting, although for me personally not enough to warrant a purchase.

Waiting for the release of the stats for the inevitable T6 ships.
This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

Nice, but wasn't the Daedalus-class decommissioned in 2196?

Also, how customizable will these ships be?

Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

Not really feeling this new ship mechanic, also, it's going to be pretty rough for a new faction with 1 free tier 5 ship.

Which ship would that be? All of the new ships are C-store/pre-order.

    no leech type console =(

I uhhhh. Jesus really? Not a single original free tier 5 ship? Or is that what the fed ships are for?

There is only a free tier 1 ship for the AOY arc if I understand it correctly. I'm not on tribble but I was assuming from what is floating around, the AOY arc is at best a level 1-10 mission arc so a tier 1 ship is all that is needed.

Someone correct me if I am wrong.

Those are all C-Store ships, but there should be also free ships (for normal leveling)... i think.
Will we get their stats soon?

Decoy beacon seems to be a super charged Aceton assimilator for the Feds - I guess you really do want the KDF to die quickly :(

Still waiting to be able to use forum titles

    The M6 boosts attack though.

    Console – Universal – M6 Computer

The Temporal Escort comes equipped with the M6 Computer universal console. The M6 Computer was designed to provide rapid tactical analysis of the battlefield without any of the troublesome drawbacks of its predecessor. When the M6 Computer is activated it will provide a substantial boost to Weapon Damage, Accuracy, Defense, Weapon Cycle Haste and Tactical Bridge Officer Ability recharge rate.

This console may be equipped on any starship and it may be equipped in any console slot.
I'm guessing that this means that this console isn't super OP since it won't be active 100% of the time. Still, I'm interested to see how it truly works in game.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

Decoy beacon seems limited only to the one ship though, and a T5 at that.

    Uhh, wait a minute.

Temporal ship mechanics on Tier 1-5 ships?

Aren't those specialization-like powers exclusive to Tier 6?

I'm not sure I'll like how these ship compare with their non-TOS counterparts.

Only good part about this, is Tier 1-4 ships won't be used for very long. Still that Ranger class... :/

Guess I just believe that Cryptic shouldn't be breaking pattern with these, there haven't been any <T6 ships with Active Sensor Probes, Pilot Manuvers, or Inspiration abilities.

Aside from that potential 'balance hiccup', these ships do look rather cool, I may actually enjoy using several of them! And the Ranger is one hot design! :*

    "Molecular Deconstruction Beam

Activating this ability requires a total of 6 Counters generated by Defensive Configuration, Offensive Configuration, or Support Configuration. Molecular Deconstruction Beam deals Physical Damage over time and Disables the target, in addition to healing your hull over time. This power's damage scales with the number of Offensive Counters consumed. Its Hull Healing scales with the number Defensive Counters consumed. Lastly, its Disable duration scales with the number of Support Counters consumed. Activating this ability will consume all Offensive, Defensive and Support Counters generated from Configurations
    ."

I'm sure this will all make sense at some point when I'm actually able to play it, cause right now, I've no flippin clue. lolz Sorry, It's been an amazingly crazy day :D and I need things explained to me especially slowly and simply cause right now, I've been stressed to absolute Incomprehension.

I like the bridge officer seat progression sort of builds from one to the next, and getting access to 'specialization ship' powers early is pretty interesting - so these are more in-universe late-model timeships wrapped up in TOS hull plating?

    They do look very cool!

    Cool ships, cool stats

I wonder how you'll explain their... temporal nature, though.

Although there were encounters with ships from the future (VOY), not even the TNG era had temporal-specialized ships.

Are these ships from the future and built to look retro, so they don't attract too much attention; or someone messed with history again?

This is correct. The starting Character in the TOS Faction gets one free ship that is TOS era. After that, you are brought forward in time and use the Fed ships from 2409/2410 that you get for free. From Tier 2 on up.

All other AoY ships are c-store purchases.

That remains to be seen, but i estimate it will be roughly equal to the stargazer picard maneuver console.

One thing I noticed right away was that all the ships are listed as being "Faction: Starfleet." Does this mean what I think it means and my current Federation characters and my Fed-Romulan won't be able to claim the ships for the consoles and admiralty cards? Because right now I'm on the fence on purchasing the pack and I was already working under the assumption (yeah, I know :p) that I would be able to.

Oh, so now you release the stats, only a whole month after selling the Temporal Pack for $130 with no real information to give a reason to buy it at all. And even now, you don't give all the ship stats. Typical Cryptic.

    Marketing, it's what's for dinner!

Did anyone force you to buy the Temporal Pack a month ago? Is anyone forcing you to buy it today? OK, we're good then.

Might pick up that Gemini Battlecruiser just to use the skin for the T6 Temporal equivalent, it's just so purty :)

Also gives me an excuse to keep the TOS uniforms and bridge on the characters I plan to create for it. Space Barbie FTW.

Seems like you've got Daniels and friends doing a bit of tinkering with old-style designs right enough, the only "true" TOS era ship will be the T1 Pioneer class you start out in (and the T1 Constitution if you own it) from what I've gathered from the Tribble inmates.

Think it is like the Singularity charge that builds up on Romulan ships.

Okay, so after reading through the blog, I have some questions.

    1. Is this new Molecular Reconstruction Mechanic something that we can ignore and not use like with Cruiser Commands and Sensor Analysis, or is it something that is always "ON"?

    2. Can the Photonic Decoy Beacon really only be slotted on the Ranger or is that a typo considering all the other consoles on the T1-4 ships can be used on any ship?

    3. The Ranger Class Battlecruiser is a T5 CStore ship, but can it be upgraded to T5-U? If it can't, it'll be the first* CStore T5 ship that isn't able to be upgraded.

Overall, I still like the looks of the ships and think that the consoles they come with are decent enough as well

*Technically, the T5 Support Cruiser Retrofit (T5 version of the reward from playing Temporal Ambassador) is available to some players from the CStore if they took advantage of the giveaway a couple years back. However it was a giveaway and not paid for with Zen. Also, it is no longer available, though it could be made available again at some point.

This is correct. The starting Character in the TOS Faction gets one free ship that is TOS era. After that, you are brought forward in time and use the Fed ships from 2409/2410 that you get for free. From Tier 2 on up.

All other AoY ships are c-store purchases.

If thats the case then its not really a faction not even a micro faction, just a half hearted story arc set in the ToS era that they are panning as a faction.

If that truely is the case then why even bother , im not even getting on the cryptic hype train again, i would like someone to confirm if this is indeed correct, that were only getting 1 free T1 ship and thats it.

and if the "Faction" is only one small story arc long.
