Now, it looks like a Trade Federation STAP from the other Star <something>:

Hehe, true. But this thing must be the most nonsensical invention ever. Why do droids need a "vehicle" like this in the first place and not simply let the "bike" thing be it's own droid? It makes absolutely no sense to let a robot unergonomically cling to it pig-3.gifpig-2.gif

Because, like all Trade Federation tech (like the MTTs, STAPs, AATs, Sheathipedes, and Lucrehulks), it's built for the Neimoidians not droids. That's why they built the droids in the first place, to pilot their already existing tech and not just make the AAts drones or something.

I personally am still waiting for the chariot class xD basically its just a flying sword in space and most likely is a dreadnought due to the way it flies in space xD

There was an episode of 'Rebels' where Hera tested a prototype kept by its MC designer.

Yes it is. The Saga films, Anthology films, latest two TV shows (TCW and Rebels) are all canon. There's also a bunch of comics, books, games and whatnot I have no interest in. Just like the old canon the only bits I bothered with were the bits on silver circles I could put in my DVD player.

    Aren't those technically rings? pig-17.gif

I'm really only interested in the movies, but I'm glad it's canon. I like the MC, my favourite battle group in the Empire at War game (the expansion modded to remove the third faction, of course) is a MC cruiser with an escort of MC-80 frigates (those are probably just in the game) and multiple B-Wings (and one or two Nebulon-Bs when I feel like it, those just look good). Sure, the B-Wings are kinda OP but even if they weren't I'd like them pig-2.gif

EDIT: MC80s are the star cruisers, I meant MC30 frigates pig-1.gif

Technically they are perforated discs. As for what is canon in Star Wars: apparently everything. Wars is beating the pants off Trek when it comes to... just about everything.

I wouldn't say so. A circle is a 2D shape and DVDs are understood as 2D objects (I mean they are obviously 3D, but flat objects are generally described in 2D terms) where a ring is generally a description for a 3D object.

I know. Thank goodness we can't take parts from other ships and add them to our own, mixing and matching saucers and hulls and whatnot.

Mine was generally a full group of 20 TIE Defender Squadrons if I was playing Empire. Just go in with them, swarm the station and wreck it. If I had a fleet with capships, first thing to go in would be an Interdictor and just park her at my spawn with Grav Well active. NO ESCAPE FOR YOU! MUA HAHAHA!

And back on topic... I won't deny I miss the old Typhoons. They've always stuck with me ever since I first saw one in "Skirmish" back in S6. And the very first thing it did was shoot a few phaser blasts... then it used TS3 on the combined True Way and KDF forces. I had never seen so many torpedoes in my life. Freaking WALL of quantums. And everything died. Except me and the Axon, but that's besides the point.

From that moment on I wanted one. And I still do. I cannot think of a single time a Typhoon NPC has failed me. From the random NPCs in mission to the Fleet Support Typhoons. They ALWAYS did work. And came through.

And now they are gone. May they RIP. Or be given to us to use. I would prefer the second one.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)

For the most part the Typhoon AI lives on in NPC Command Cruisers. They seem to have the same behavior, with the added console power.

Ah, the Typhoon. Everything from its perfect blend of B-52 engine pod nacelles, to its beefy "battleship" appearance made me like it from the start. Add the Mirror skin, and it was a winner. It's such a shame they retired this design. If ever it is released as a skin addition (especially the mirror variant!) to current or upcoming ships, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.
