Perfectly understandable from your perspective, but people like me feed on forum tears.
Yes, we know.
On a more 'serious' note; why not? This is the future of the futuristic game we're playing here. Technological advancements and acquisitions via trade and espionage is expected.

Agreed. It is very likely that in time, the whole galaxy would be able to develop a battlecloak. So... meh.
Here I thought for a moment STO was doing good again keeping power creep more in check, expanding laterally with useful new skills, keeping faction uniqueness, ship classes (C-Store, lobi, event, etc.) on some sort of balance, instead it's another Joker Card that topples everything upside down yet again.
I can no longer take this game seriously. Period. Full stop.
It's quite surprising for Cryptic to throw out Cloak-capable ships, but the ENTIRE array of ships associated with the upcoming Lockbox is not only Cloak-capable, but Battle Cloak, as if they were Rom ships.
That said, it doesn't matter:
- Premium Ships - SCI Vessel is Lobi, Raider is a Lockbox drop, the Battlecruiser is "Going the Vonph route"- All this will limit their numbers.
- "The meta" does not favorably look at Cloak Warfare in PVE-Land. Personally, I have always made use of Cloaks, taking advantage of it, but the stance by the player base on them isn't favorable in PVE-Land.
- Only RRW characters have the BOFF & Captain Traits to bring the most out of Cloak Warfare.
- Most players in the game wouldn't even know the first thing about proper cloak use, much less maximizing it, maybe even not realize their ship is cloak capable. And IF they knew about it, I refer you to my 2nd point.
Anyways, Battle Cloak Science Vessels have been around since LOR: Ha'nom - RRW only, came out with LOR in mid-2013. T5/T5U only. Romulan DSD versions - Yeah. But also only T5/T5U. Voth Palisade - Requires full Voth Console Set to upgrade the plugged-in Cloak to Battle Cloak. That means owning the Voth Palisade, Voth Bastion, and of course, the Voth Bulwark. Yeah. T5/T5U only.
Edit: The Raider is Insta-Fail even before the Lockbox is released, even before the stats are made known to us. The Raider concept of ships has never, ever caught on anywhere except in the KDF with their Birds of Prey. There have been numerous T5 and even T6 Raiders that are excellent ships, but again, they're highly unpopular. The only Raider ships you ever see are BOPs, that's it. You'll see some Nakuhl Raiders early on but they'll disappear just like the outstanding Herald (T6) and Breen Raiders (T5U) did.
I don't think it's that bad. Cryptic's whole concept with Lock Box/Lobi/Promotional ships is that they're deliberately stronger than C-Store/free ships. This is because they're harder to get, and because they exist outside of typical faction restrictions. Nobody would even attempt to pick up those ships aside from liking their looks if they didn't offer something that faction-specific ships don't.
All three Na'kuhl ships having battle cloak makes sense to me. After all it was stated in canon that Vosk and his lackeys created a form of stealth time-travel, so it would make sense for Na'kuhl ships to also have some form of conventional cloaking device as well. It makes these ships unique and gives them something that currently no other Lock Box/Lobi/Promotional ship offers (not including Voth ships, because their cloak takes investment to get). I'm surprised people aren't throwing more of a fit over the new Archeros Battlecruiser, a Cruiser-type vessel, being the first of its kind with Pilot BOff seating. That seems more contradictory to current in-game mechanics than adding battle cloaks (not that I mind, in fact I'm delighted a Cruiser-type ship finally has Pilot seating).
It just seems that people get worked up over nothing and are freaking out about these Na'kuhl ships before they've even seen their full stats or even had a chance to play around with them in-game. Cool down people, let's not get hasty with the judgment. I for one like these ships a lot. They look high-tech and advanced, and the red/orange hull with the turquoise-colored lights and purple/blue impulse exhausts really just makes them look exotic and otherworldly. I even created a new character to take full use of these new ships, mostly because my other characters' ship rosters are full, LOL.

The Cruiser having Pilot access doesn't even register as a single, one-time blip on the radar for me. Pilot BOFF abilities have been extremely lackluster for PVE applications. The abilities are heavily geared towards PVP and the ones that *DO* get used in PVE are high ranking ones (LtCmdr+). Since the best the ship has for Pilot is a Lieutenant TAC/Pilot station, it doesn't matter. You are not getting anything real meaningful even if you do slot for Pilot BOFF abilities there. What's more important is that it has Intel access, LtCmdr Universal/Intel station. It can go up to OSS3, or possibly OSS2+SS1, or whatever. Of course, the overall BOFF layout will determine how deep one can go into a Spec before sacrifices have to be made.
Why does this thread exist? Who cares if anyone uses battlecloak? This should have never happened. Only for the purpose of trolling for people who will complain, and then probably call foul when someone opposes them.

Exactly, the original post doesn't include any commentary or arguments pro or con, just a call for people to complain:
So Na'kuhl have battle cloaks but 29th Century Klingons and Romulans have forgotten how to make them and 29th Century Federation never bothered with them at all?
I jest, it's pretty clear why none of the existing temporal ships have them.
I didn't need to provide any arguments because I don't care, I made the thread to consolidate all the whining in one place for my viewing pleasure. Now if you'll excuse me I have popcorn to make...
I'm not whining, I like the idea of a lockbox ship having a cloak. Most of my ships are lockbox ones but, to coin a phrase, without a cloak I feel... naked.

I knew using Kinetics would be playing the game on hard mode, but what I didn't realize was how bad the deck is stacked against Kinetics.
TRIBBLE the idea of Federation battle cloaks.
I'm just happy we finally get a t6 science ship that won't cost stupid amounts of resources to acquire.
The T5 Ha'nom already has a battle cloak. This is just the first T6 science ship with battle cloak
IMO... Battlecloak is.... Well Meh!

Yes and only usable by Roms which by default get cloaks.
