Well I watched it today... and I still don't get why people think it was TRIBBLE.
Oh and Wonder Woman knew about Doomsday not because anyone called her but because she saw Doomsday on the news.
I actually liked the pictures of the various heroes. The idea used in universe is that Alexander Luthor had been collecting data on people with powers, then Batman and Wonder Woman stole the data. I particularly liked the 1918 pic. That was a neat touch.
Also I don't think that thing with Batman seeing the future was a dream.... I think it's a psychic projection... and a dangling plot thread.
Also it's super creepy that the painting in Lex's study has pictures of Parademons on it...... And yes, they explicitly spell out in the movie that it's Alexander Luthor and not the same guy people usually think of as Lex Luthor.
There has been some word from people behind the scenes that the "Knightmare" sequence as it is called was not a dream but a temporal memory like what happened with Flash when he changed the past in "The Flashpoint Paradox", including the appearance of Flash in the Batcave at the end of the sequence.
Yeah, at first it seems like a weird dream based on Batman's paranoia, but certain parts were oddly specific.... Firepits, the giant Omega symbol on the ground.... Parademons! Those don't make sense if it's "just a dream". And of course the Flash portal where he talks about Lois.
Also it's super creepy that the painting in Lex's study has pictures of Parademons on it...... And yes, they explicitly spell out in the movie that it's Alexander Luthor and not the same guy people usually think of as Lex Luthor.
Those weren't "parademons", they were *actual* "demons". It was a biblical picture of angels fighting demons.
And yet they looked almost identical to the Parademons in the future apocalypse vision.
There is also the sequence with Luthor and Batman at the prison. When Luthor tells him that "the bell has been rung" and talks about something coming from very far away. After all in the comics "Cyborg Superman" threw Doomsday's body from Earth to Apokalips (Darkseid's planet) so its not like its some other dimension. Luthor having such knowledge would seem at first glance to be out of place. But remember how much information the crashed ship's computer told Luthor it had. Clearly we have been set up for Darkseid as the primary villain for the 2 Justice League movies.
100,000 worlds.... that's a lot of data. One thing that kinda puzzles me is what, if any, role Doomsday will have later.
I wish they had included that scene in the movie, because it definitely shows Lex has just received some kind of information about something scary out in the universe, which helps to explain what he says to Batman in prison at the end of the movie.
Also, some are speculating that living statue was of Darkseid's father:
OK just got back from seeing it, and I've avoided this thread until now.
I haven't read all 14 preceding pages but... I liked it.
I had two people who saw it tell me it sucks, but I don't know what their problem is. The overall story is somewhat true to the comic, with the battle between Doomsday and the result on Superman. I enjoyed it.
If I had to complain, it would be about Luthor. He wasn't played like anything true to the character; I don't know how much was the script vs Eisenberg's performance, but he played him too Joker-y for my taste.
Looking forward to see where they go with it next.

You may have missed that this is Alexander Luthor (classic Lex's son). But he still gets called Lex... It gets directly referenced but it's a BG detail so you might have missed it. Batman actually calls him Alexander at one point when talking to Alfred. Also he refers to Lexcorp as his father's company when talking about it to Lois. Then later when talking to the senator in his study he says it was his father's study.

Those three cubes look an awful lot like the cube that was in the video of Cyborg's origin. Connecting Cyborg to Apokalips is not a new idea either, the animated film Justice League: War used the idea. I'm not sure if the comics did the same at any time though.
Yes, that was from the comics. In fact, that animated movie is directly based on the first story arc of the New 52 Justice League comic:

Ah, I did get the father references, but didn't read into it. (Isn't every man someone's son?) I didn't realize they're trying to make him into a new character. So that means we'll never have classic Lex v Superman; shame.
Not necessarily. Considering how most people hated Jessie Eisenberg, they might just write him off and bring in his dad, the "real" Lex. No one actually said his father had died, so they could say he had been traveling around the world, or anything they want.
There is an interesting comment to that review; if DC had followed what Marvel did with introducing individual films first before bringing them all together for the Avengers, people would complain that DC was just copying Marvel.
But why should that be necessary? Everyone knows the origin stories of Batman and Superman.
And just in case anyone missed it, Superman got his re-introduction in Man of Steel, and Batman just had the Dark Knight trilogy.
For the rest of the Justice League, there will be individual movies for WW, Flash, and Aquaman. Cyborg should be in there somewhere as well, and eventually they'll try again with Green Lantern.
“Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” is the most expensive prank ever committed to film, a colossal misfire that is the equivalent of watching someone feeding millions of dollars to a blender for 151 minutes.
Yikes. Overall, not the worst review.
There is an interesting comment to that review; if DC had followed what Marvel did with introducing individual films first before bringing them all together for the Avengers, people would complain that DC was just copying Marvel. Sure, people will complain about anything, but I kind of agree with what that comment had posed. Also, having just come off the Nolan trilogy, was a new solo Batman film really necessary before Batman vs Superman?
The problem isn't copying or trying to do something original. The problem is doing something well. They failed (in my opinion, obviously).
And if you have a bunch of superhero properties, it would make sense to introduce them individually. That isn't really copying anything.
That said - they already had a Batman Trilogy, they don't really need to retell the origin for him, even if they decide he's a different incarnation.
Superman.. Isn't really needed, either. (Though I actually think there origin story had some good ideas - like making Lois Lane clever enough to figure out who Superman is), he's so well known that barely anyone that would bother watching the movie wouldn't know who he is.
But they didn't need to shove Wonder Woman into that movie, nor Aquaman, Cyborg (who ever that is, never heard of that superhero ever before) or Flash, Doomsday, Lex, Darkseid (also one of those villains I've never heard about before as a non comic book reader) hints and what not. Focus more on the actual story of this movie, don't try to do it all at once.
Maybe a different creative team could have combined all these threads and elements into a good movie, but this team didn't.

I am not a comic book reader, and not a US citizen. There is plenty of comics and cartoons that I might have never read or seen. And the ones I did were ages ago.
The superho I probably remember best was Superman as in "Lois & Clark" (or whatever the exact name of the show was).
I also remember a bit of Adam West's Batman, and vague hints implying Aquaman or Flash, Spiderman (cartoon) (but also Doctor Who). That might have all been elementary school age or even before.
The heroes of my childhood where KITT, Airwolf and the A-Team. And perhaps Picard, Spock, Odo and Sheridan. And comic book wise, I read some Fix & Foxi, Disney and Clever & Smart. Oh, and that kid's magazine from by bank.
My interest in superheroes only really started when I watched the first Spiderman Movie with Toby Maguire. At that time, I was already a grown-up, and the movie surprised me since I thought Superheroes were just was for kids. And it went from there. But the only comic book movie I went back to the source for was Watchmen (a movie I really enjoyed, and I also enjoyed the comic. Ironic, perhaps, since Watchmen is basically a deconstruction, isn't it?)

I didn't realize either, that this wasn't supposed to be "THE" Lex Luthor version made most famous in the comics and previous movies.
While it puts a different spin on my thought processes', I still don't really care for this particular portrayal.

So yes, I do think those cubes the statue/hologram was holding are mother boxes.
