There will never be a top of the line Connie, but what about just under that?

The Movie Era Enterprise Class(Constitution Refit/Constitution II) is still my favorite... promptly followed by the FASA designed Chandley

The FASA designed Klingon L9 Sabre ("Sivista") is the dream of a bygone age ship for me. They could make it tier 2 with the first admiralty card that has negative stats and I'd still hand them $40 without blinking the day it came out.

    Such a beautiful machine.

CBS holds all the rights to Star Trek and they said no and that's the end of it.

I have not followed this "Connie" discussion over the years, just eyed on it from time to time.

The reason is still the same "CBS said no".. fair enough but beside from "CBS Said No", have they given a a longe reason why "no"?
Cause it must be a reason why these threads continue to pop up.
    Klingon L9 Sabre

Haha, that ship look like my vacuum cleaner :)

Im starting to wonder if out right bans for breaking these FCTs are the way to go. Youre not getting a end game or near end game Connie. You know better, you already know the answer to this as its a weekly theme on this forum.

Rather than breaking the forum rules by discussing moderation, here is a better solution: you have free will, so use it. If you see a thread where the title is clearly about something you don't like...don't click on it. But if you *do* decide to click on a thread about a topic you don't like, you only have yourself to blame, not the person who posted it.

As far as the actual topic goes, I think the OP is making a flawed argument based on semantics. Regardless of what ship tier happens to be the end game at any given moment(as the end game level is always going up), the idea of an actual Constitution class being viable(not necessarily the best, but close) at "end game" has always been what was denied.

They can't make it. They were told no by the people who own it. The Guardian looks pretty close. There is a reason that the only constitution class to survive was Enterprise, the crew is considered Legends.

I would kill for this ship.....I mean...literally...
They should take the Connie and give it the Galaxy stats. You will still never see at the endgame

I hope you're talking about the T5 Galaxy, cause the T6 Galaxy is rock solid. And even then as someone who chugged on with the T5 Galaxy in the worst of times, when DHC ruled the game called 'Escorts Online' and the T5 Galaxy was literally the worst ship in the game and still managed to utilize it and make it usefull - I would be over the moon to actually have a Connie with those same stats I've been used to for several years.

how about junking ship tiers completely and just go by ship era instead? (ENT TOS TMP TNG DS9 VOY)

To what effect? Are you suggesting a ship's performance should be tied to it's era, with the later era's being stronger than the early? If so, that would ruin Cryptic's business plan of selling T6 versions of ships like the Galaxy class.

It would be funny if they did bring it out for the 50th Anniversary as a event gift.

I'm all for junking Tiers and making ships the business of the crew that commands them, but rating by era is just another way of locking people into ships they don't want to fly.

If you look at the schematics you can see that the connie can still be a viable ship fire power wise.

    The USS Enterprise-A, a refit Constitution-class
    • Type: Heavy cruiser
    • Active: 2270s - ?
    • Length: 305 meters

    Technical information Edit
In her original configuration, the Enterprise-E was 685 meters long and had 24 decks. She was equipped with twelve phaser arrays and five torpedo tubes.

    Picard and crew depart
The main bridge of the Enterprise
By 2379, the Enterprise-E had undergone at least one refit, including four additional phaser arrays and five additional torpedo tubes. The number of decks was also increased by five to a total of 29. (Star Trek Nemesis)

Sections included deflector control, stellar cartography, hydroponics (on deck 11), and one sickbay ward. Main engineering and sickbay were on Deck 16. (Star Trek: First Contact)

The ship could be controlled by a manual steering column located on the bridge. (Star Trek: Insurrection) She was also the first Enterprise to be equipped with an Emergency Medical Hologram. (Star Trek: First Contact)

The Constitution class is perfectly capable of holding its own against other ships of this day and age. The Constitution Refit does not have an end of service date, meaning it could still be in service as short to medium range reconnaissance or defense ship.

Don't give me the model T or the "there is no way this ship could match up with current models" arguments. It's larger than some escort and science ships, it has armaments to defeat current cruiser classes.

Constitution Refit has 18 phaser emitters while the most modern ship (pre STO) has 16.
Constitution had 7 Torpedo tubes where the Sovereign carries 10. Constitution Refit has 2 where the Galaxy has 2.

Understanding that CBS said no, BUT we are at the 50th Anniversary of Star Trek, the TOS Connie started it all! The ships of the line for the most part are all modeled in STO, just facelift the interior and walla you have it all.

Honestly I think it'll be funnier after the 50th Anniversary has passed and it still didn't happen to see what the next omen/astrological conjunction people come up with for why they should finally do it.

Because its not like the people saying '50th or bust' are actually gonna give up.

Really? No lock yet? While we're talking about things that won't happen... let's get my old K'vort complaint going. No Max Level Connie without a Max Level K'vort. or Any K'vort for that matter.

Um... the K'Vort is just an upscaled B'Rel. No difference in the model whatsoever, other than they didn't drop the wings in combat.
Ehhhh it's my favorite Klingon ship followed by the B'rel. No matter how similar they are (100% similar) a B'rel is still not a K'vort. I used to love building fleets of K'vorts and B'rels for murdering Computer Fleets in BOTF.
When you see "TRIBBLE" in my posts, it's because I manually typed "TRIBBLE" and censored myself.

    End Game Constitution Class ship
The answer to the T5 connie ship has been a no for 4 years and that answer comes from CBS. As such, there will not be a T5 constitution class ship in STO. This also means that any version of the ship will not be available as an End game ship.

so this thread is spam. IBTL.
