Anyway, the calendar says the 25th, and maintenance day was supposed to be on Fridays now, so uh, where's my event?
1. The 25th is Thursday, not Friday. Today is Thursday the 25th so the event is over.
2. Maintenance has not been permanently moved to Friday. Last week they did it on Friday but that wasn't permanent, Maintenance day is still Thursday. This week is a little different, it's on Thursday and Friday due to extended work that needs to be done.
The events always end at the start of maintenance. Maintenance started at the time they said it would start.

Okay, sure. I was mostly half-heartedly saying that.
The bigger point I was making was why did they lock out lobi instantly. Do they not want me to use a monetized system to get a reward, no matter how small the income may be? I really just don't get that part.
It's no big loss for me, just kind of annoying. But whatever, they clearly don't want money.

I think it's because of the new way the event currency works. Basically it's dead/turned off as soon as the event ends, which was actually after maintenance at 1 pm eastern today.
Captain Jean-Luc Picard: "We think we've come so far. Torture of heretics, burning of witches, it's all ancient history. Then - before you can blink an eye - suddenly it threatens to start all over again."
"With the first link, the chain is forged. The first speech censured, the first thought forbidden, the first freedom denied, chains us all irrevocably."
the end date was given as feb 24th, that is Wednesday on my calendar.
generally the events are taken down by 10am PST or 6pm uk time.
This means that the 24th was an error. The calendar says the 25th.
the calendar I'm referring to is not the in game one but the windows desktop calendar, I didn't bother checking the in game calendar before as I just assumed the news blog regarding the event that states the end of the event to be on the 24th to be accurate as I would expect it to be.
that is why when I see the event still running well past its usual cut off time I took this to mean the event had been extended.
checking the in game calendar at that time would have made no difference as I would have just assumed it was updated to show the new end date.
When I think about everything we've been through together,
maybe it's not the destination that matters, maybe it's the journey,
and if that journey takes a little longer,
so we can do something we all believe in,
I can't think of any place I'd rather be or any people I'd rather be with.

You have a good point.. they should have the Lobi Option remain for at least a little while after the event. That way people that fell 1 or 2 days short that want to finish the project with Lobi can do so.
I mean after all, you're asking them for the opportunity to give them money, you would think they would be all over this option.
I was kicking myself for not considering that the featured episode gives a quick 400 Qs to alts. There won't be a buy-back store for them but I could have traded them in the daily for 400 rep marks of my choice. Oh well. There's always then next Crystalline Event or Mirror Invasion I suppose.
Hardcore players are able to wait out this show-stopping lag situation, but casual players don't have that luxury. It is a bit unfair that many casuals will not be fortunate enough to obtain all of of the vouchers needed for this year's ship, due to the lag which is causing the game to be unplayable. There are only a number of days left remaining for the event, every last bit is needed.
Are there any plans to give casual players some relief with an event extension?
Typical. LOL
People are always asking for extensions on everything. The event has been plastered EVERYWHERE since it began. It will not be extended for the few who could not find 15 minutes of the day to complete the daily project.

I guess they expect you to realise before the event ends (i.e. on the last day) that you need more tokens and to buy them with lobi at that point not the next day after the event is over.

They are not going to extend it. People will never realize that. You had your time to get it done..10 min a day, and you did not even have to do it everyday.
BTW, the lag is not an ALL DAY thing. If you ran the episode when it was featured, you would have received 400 vouchers right there. And there was plenty of days to complete the rest...
I wish there was the ability to still complete the conversion to marks of our choice though. Characters still have more to turn in since they gated only 40 per day can be converted.

I think this also shows Cryptic's position on events. Players who call things a money grab need to look at this, and realize that STO would make a fortune on keys through players who want the Lobi, if they sold the ship after the event.
This shows that no, it's a true limited time event, with a limited time currency and prize. It's good for the game as a whole to have things that encourage log-ins like an event, but they're not going the "you can pay us after the event" route - which is a nice thing to see from a game company.

indeed there are many ways cryptic could make money in the game if they wanted to but they have the integrity not to go down that route.
like some other games companies they could hide major expansions behind paywalls, they could make it so at least one item from every set requires spending zen in the c-store, they could omit the practice of giving away c-store items in regular events and they could omit the practice of giving away top tier ships in events and that is to name but a few.
even the dilithium exchange is a sign to me that they put the players before profit, lets be honest what other game company allows the free to play players to exchange free in-game currency with paid for currency, even though in the long run cryptic are not loosing from this but gaining there are not many other game companies that would even consider this as an option.

I would like the event extended, and here are my reasons:
1)I came back to the game after a yearish in hiatus at about 3/4's through the event (no chance of me getting the ship even with the 400bonus vouchers i got from the quest and the 240 i got from the code emailed to me).
2)I'm not that enamoured with the ship but i used some zen to buy the flagship pack and didn't know that i had to also get a universal console from the event ship to complete that console set (GRRRRR).
3)When i realised this i also realized the extortionate ratio of trying to get lobi from boxes and convert it to vouchers was not worth zening it out(1:1 trade ratio and only a couple per dollarish box ? honestly....).

I hate to break the bad news but the event has ended, it can only be extended while it is still running and I have never known cryptic to end an event only to resume it later.
I don't know why cryptic insist on locking set consoles in event ships while others are in c-store ships, you would think this would limit the c-store ships saleability.
