Huh? You grind 25 ice races, you get a FREE T6 SHIP for every character you have, AND any new characters that you create years from now.
I hear this a lot from people who either don't realize or don't believe time is a currency.
It isn't really FREE when you're spending the grind time it takes to do something 25 times. Grind time is a currency, and you're spending some it on the ship. A lot of people either value their grind time very low, or simply don't believe it is worth anything. It seems like a form of depression or low self-image, really, to believe your time isn't worth anything to anyone.
We're all worthwhile and valuable.
From your words it seems like you feel anyone who works for tech upgrades or rep gear must suffer from depression as well.
My salary is comfortable and I could easily afford to buy the needed Q-things with lobi, or an Annorax for every alt. I'm not a whale by choice not out of necessity. I grind the xmas event because I enjoy feeling that I've earned my in-game shinies.
Can anyone care to explain what is the problem the OP is talking about? Are we going to have only 1 ship free a year? If that is so I call this act BLASPHEMY!!!!! It is time to burn the barn!!!!!!

I think the OP is angry that they can't stockpile the currency to get next year's ship earlier, thus why bother getting this year's ship if you can't also work for next year's.
Don't really see the big deal. Get on, run a foot race for a couple minutes on one character for 25 days, get account unlock T6 ship, enjoy.
{Sigh} Of course. I will continue to participate in any event that offers free rewards as long as I consider the grind to get it to be reasonable and not too onerous. The event has to run long enough to account for the fact that I am very likely to miss several days of it, and the activity must avoid the kind of mind-numbing tedium associated with running down mini-Q's on a daily basis.
The fact that event rewards like this one will be account unlocks and reclaimable creates a lot of incentive to participate with at least one character.
I do not like the fact that my efforts can't carry over into subsequent events if I happen to miss too many days, but I see the necessity and I'm not going to rant about it.

Well, I for one am mad as hell about that thing. You know the thing I mean. You're mad as hell about it too, even if you don't realize it. And when we all realize how mad we are, we're going to rise up as one and do that other thing. You'll see. Mad people, all doing that thing. And not doing that other thing. Just like in that movie.
Like everyone else said.. depends on effort vs. Reward.
Summer and Winter Events.. absolutely. Easy as can be, takes a couple minutes a day and has a desirable reward.
Mirror Invasion.. absolutely never again. Horrible event, not worth the time it takes.
Depends on the event. Apparently, the OP feels 5 min a day is just too much work, whatever. At this point we can only guess what he's talking about since the entire thing is just a nonsensical rant.
I'll NEVER slog through Crystalline Catastrophe or Mirror Invasion again.
Compared to those soul-crushing grindfests, running a two minute foot race once a day on a single toon to get a badass new ship for my whole account seems too negligible an effort to even mention.
MI is a slog. CC isn't though. I make a heck of a lot of dil with CC by repeating it over and over until I get all the rep's bonus boxes and turn all those marks for dil. Got me the Command cruiser set with the last event.
I don't get the super-fast CC groups. Yes, my experience is usually in the neighborhood of 5 minutes or so to complete, but it suffers from the randomness of the team you get. I do not have time to assemble uber-dps premades to run queued events several times a day.
The ice race depends on no one. There is no queueing, no arbitrary countdown for the mission briefings nobody reads, no blisteringly incompetent teammates and nobody trying to leech off of your efforts. Just log in, talk to coordinator, run, done. And only once per account (I have 13 toons).
Can't we all just get along? Think of the children!!! Give peace a chance. Everyone is beautiful in their own way.
Sorry, I have run out of platitudes to add to this conversation.

Yup there's one like the OP every time an event comes out. Tired of players who are all butt hurt over an event for some stupid reason or another. Seriously do you think that others are all of a sudden going to join your little tantrum of protest when the events reward ships, dilth and gear? I think not so maybe if you don't like the event don't play the event and stop whining and even more important don't get all whaa whaa You have a t-6 event whatever and I don't. Just because you didnt like the event and didnt do it doesn't give you the right to cry foul. I'm not that crazy about event grinds but the rewards are worth the few minutes of aggrevation.
Yeah I'll never do another event again. Ever. EVER! I'm pretty sure the game's dying. The sky is falling. Everything is exploding and melting around us.
I HATE CHANGE! GET OFF MY LAWN! QQ!
Yeah just kidding, I'll be looking forward to the next one, except for maybe Mirror Invasion, but that's only because the current state of the queued content is...unpleasant and in need of a slight overhaul.
Anyway, I just came by to post in this thread before it gets locked. So hai.

This sort of reasoning never made sense to me. Most people play in their spare time and you don't earn money in your spare time. On the contrary, that's usually when you spend the money you've earned. Therefore, this ship that people will be grinding towards to in their spare time is indeed free, because they wouldn't have earned any money had they decided not to take part in this event. Of course, if you're playing at work or if you somehow work all day, then yes, time is money and the ship is not free anymore.
I have tried every year but have never managed to complete the race. I have zero(0) Breen ships and though it has just started I know that I have no chance to get one this year either. However, I am all over the summer event like I wrote it myself. I have both Risian ships and the Ferengi Nandi, and if the event happens next summer I will be there. "Flying High" is like having cake with a side of pie. I guess I just can't figure out the ice thing.
