Star Trek Online becoming unusable due to connection failiures, anyone have anything that might help

Hi there,

So I have been in STO since the beginning and I have never had so much trouble with this game then I have had in the last few months, server drops connection between maps, cannot connected to update launcher, an several other issues that are frankly making a great game unplayable and frustrating as we are in events now that require ppl to be online each day to play through a mission to get a reward with a limited time period to do so.

I have my firewall completely turned off, everything it patch forwarded, the game works so times then I get spells where I cant connect for hours or even days. If it connects once im not sure why its not the other times, if anyone has anything that might help in this, I would be deeply greatful, I just dropped 2500 zen on a ship and have not been able to play with it at all. I have a newer computer so its not running on an old OS, im on windows 8.1 right now, and frankly never had these issues before about 6th months ago, but I've had it with the server issues and really want to play the game i paid for.

If these issues are going to keep continuing the admin staff of STO should atleast extend the event so ppl get get the rewards with all the server connection issues, and frankly I have paid a a lot of money into this game, from game time before it went to a free to play to buying zen and a lot of other stuff. If you guys are going to be having these known issues you need to step up as a company and take some responsibility for your servers before every one bails on the game, because of these same issues, I see them all the time. If you think ignoring your customers and not supplying a quality expiriance is going to make you money, then you dont know how this business works, and frankly most of us would like nothing more then to pay into this game if it worked. You get way more then enough in revenue to get a working server so ppl can play the game some of us have paid good hard earned money for before it went free to play, and I'm sure im not the only to to think the service this last year or so has been less then worthy of the Star Trek brand. hackers aside, there are a number of issues you guys need to work on before your left with a dead game that no one will play.

I for one love this game, and would very much like to play it for years to come, but with all the connection issues I cant even get on for 10 mins without it crashing now a days.

Servers are not the problem here, its dodgy files im receiving somehow. Its come down to pot luck for me if it works and when it does it will do so til they do another patch the following week.

yea today out of 10minutes of actually looking at the game over 6minutes of it were spent looking at "Server no responding" TRIBBLE. all i can say is i am glad i haven't spent one red cent on any of it.

Known Issues:


A crash occasionally occurs when clicking buttons in the UI.
This is a long standing issue not new to this update.

This is the known issues list on the last tribble update apparently it is a known issue on Holodeck as well. The game has become so unplayable since the last patch that I am extremely frustrated. Cryptic needs to investigate and fix this issue, In addition I think due to this issue we should get extension of mirror invasion since it cant be completed due to the client crashing constantly.

Sounds like my issue too.

For the last couple of days, I can't do mirror invasion anymore. Everything runs smoothly until you of nowhere you get SERVER NOT RESPONDING ad nauseum and after pretty much exactly 20 seconds it boots me out and to the login screen Then, after re-logging, I just get booted from the map because it dumped be from the team (which is the stupidest bug EVER). Highly frustrating to say the least...

Also can't help but notice other random people disconnecting randomly during the event. A lot of times I see player ships show up that weren't even on my original team and they immediately warp out. Sounds familiar doesn't it?

My friend, it sounds all TOO familiar. In other words, I, too, am having this issue.

ditto here. I hope they extend the event or just give everyone the rewards. More stability in game would be appreciated.

mirror invasion is no go, the mirror universe guys have won..... due to server not responcive error......

Yeah, this patch didn't fix squat when it comes to these ongoing issues. Still the same things have been affecting me.

It's been getting really bad here, to the point that the first thing it does when I first try to log into one of my characters is lock up at the loading screen. And so far, every first Mirror Invasion STF that I try for the day the game locks up, only to kick me out of the instance when I log back in. All I can say is sorry for whoever was playing the STF at the time, as apparently the game doesn't want me to help out and leave the team at a handicap.

I have had extreme issues for some time now. I have been with STO since the beginning, I have seen bad servers before but, at this point I am finding it hard just to log in. Gameplay is impossible at times and even just staying logged in for logging ins sake is almost unbearable some days. I love this game, always have. But I can't keep loving a game I can't play. Please fix it, and since quickly as already past, fix it ASAP.

Hi all..I just reinstalled the game but now is stuck at the Cryptic launcher autoupdate "Trying to update the launcher" with "5 connection attempts" then a pop up error comes up stating a "Connection errror with the patch server" and says contact support..Any advice??
