Server Problems...

Since I haven't noticed anyone else complaining about it, I'm assuming something must be wrong with my laptop, and am wondering if anyone can help.
This morning [roughly around 7 hours ago] I was playing fine until I tried to change characters. I got the 'oh so frequent' timed out disconnection, but then when I tried logging back in I couldn't connect to the Account Server. I closed the game to try to open again and then the launcher wouldn't connect to 89% of the time. I gave up for a few hours and tried again, with no success at all. So I gave up again thinking the servers might be having problems and went for a movie. Now, hours later, I tried again and still have the laucher or account server problems.
I have no idea what went wrong. Can someone help?

No I have been getting server issues for the past 2 days. I do hope someone is looking at the issue before the new season comes out .

Hello, I am actually having the same issue with current lag fun.

Just in case its on your end, make sure your computer checks all your files and you force it to patch. After that run a few tests with instructions found here: http://forum.arcgames.com/startrekonline/discussion/1162154/pc-network-and-other-technical-issues-read-this-first-before-posting#latest

and lastly call cryptic and tell them they probably should put a message out there that their servers are having issues with connections...you are not alone...sometime you just going to have to go outside..

One of the problems with laptops as I found out sometime ago now, is they are not really built for gaming. Mine eventually packed up as the CPU on it seemed to always be on 100%. the heat coming out of it was intense too. This when it happens makes it a fire hazard.
Keep an eye on your CPU counter through task manager. Yes I know it costs, but strongly suggest you buy a desktop PC for gaming. Something like 1TB harddrive and about 8-12 RAM/ CPU around 2GHZ. My new desktop PC is all built into the monitor itself and I can leave it on all day and its always very cool. never gets hot as a laptop will.

yes it's true laptops are generally not designed for gaming. The one I have is definately designed for gaming. when sto isnt having connection issues, im able to max out all my settings with little to no lag

Thanks for answering, guys! After I posted I just kept trying to log on and it worked for a little while. But almost everytime I tried changing maps or characters I would get disconnected and it would take a while to get back in. It almost has a pattern, I login stay on for a few minutes, then disconnect, after 5-10min I'd get back in and after a few min I get disconnected again. I thought it could be my internet connection, but I already rebooted my modem/router/le-internet-box and it doesn't change.
And before I posted the topic I did try those tests. On Tracert most things were fine with a few over 100 and a couple timed out. Nettest never worked. And pathping the highest % I see is 23%, I'm guessing it's fine since nothing is at 100%. xD I know I should post the results, but tbh I don't really feel comfortable posting IP and ISP stuff. I feel like I'd be giving my password or home adress or something. Silly, I know. xD
Anyways...
About the laptop overheating. I've been using this one for months and never had any problems with it. And I play a lot. It's not a gaming laptop but it's better than the last one I used, also for gaming, and that one also never had problems. And it isn't even a little bit hot right now and the game still isn't connecting. xD
I know everybody has been having server problems lately [or since the beginning of the game lol], but I rarely ever had any problems. That's why I posted, because I thought something might have changed and had no idea what.
I'll try to force verify and see if it helps. If not I'll just wait until tomorrow or the next patch.

force verify is not the issue. when you look at tracert, one of the ip's is showing 3-4 digit ms, thats extreme lag. i noticed that it's like the third-fourth to last ip address that is having the problems.

Yeah, force verify changed nothing, hehe. Oh well, worth the try.
As for the tracert, the results actually got worse. Going from 1 to 15, from number 8 up they are all higher than 100 now and number 13 actualy went past 400. xD 10, 12 and 14 are always timedout.

Sorry to dash your hopes, but Cryptic is WELL AWARE of server issues, but they aren't going to do a TRIBBLE thing about it. They've known about it for a very long time now I'm sure, they just don't give a TRIBBLE. Sorry. Lag has become a fact of life, at about the same time every day now.

Same here.
Extreme slowness on the launccher for the patch. Server Login Timeouts three times in a row and unable to get into game at all.

Not sure what's happening.

No OP you aren't alone, I can't get on TODAY either, however I can do ALL my other usual online activities.

I was on BRIEFLY, experienced sever lag, unplayable gameplay and GOD PLEASE ! Please let all my remaining LOBI consoles still be in my possession when I can FINALLY get on again.
