The only thing I find really dumb about this box is 4 ground kit modules that are all universal? So Tacs can drop turrets now? Somehow this just seems like an act of laziness on devs part. I think its a little obvious that its supposed to be 1 universal and 1 for each class.

Dont mess with the harmony of the Universe!!!!

I don't have a problem with the box, looks interesting. And saw the Herald ships coming. But a dreadnought CARRIER? O_o. I'll reserve judgement until I see the specs. ..but. ..wow

What I would like to commend is the thrall outfit and armor , surely someone will buy a shooting stick and flying jellyfish pet.
Thrall outfit and armor are Lobi store , so there is no reason to opened the herald lock- box .

I expect the Thrall outfit will go on the Exchange so I agree there (and very much want that for my Reman, since I can halfway see the Remans designing a modified version of that look themselves). But I've noticed that not ALL Lobi Store items are typically sellable on the Exchange. Do we know whether the staff and Heavy Armor will be eligible to be sold on the Exchange or will it truly be Lobi Store only?

I'm glad the modules are universal, I've really gotten tired of modules that are career only. I'll be using them all on my sci main, it's nice to have some fun toys for once without pointless career restrictions anymore! Those kinds of limitations just need to go away at this point, but that's a subject for another thread, merely another reason I love what this box will bring. I think gravitic traps will be pretty funny to use in many missions or STFs, but gravitic combustion will be another amusing one too I think. Really cool effects!

This makes me really look forward to the Mirror Invasion lockbox if there's a chance we could actually get proper mirror versions of some Fed/Rom/KDF ship, nevermind that mirror invasion outfit, and temporal ship, although I don't have high hopes they'll release a Mirror Science ship.

If they don't project sales for a KDF Science because warriors don't like to be seen in a science ship, I can't imagine Terrans or whoever doing that either.

So a Herald "raider" for everyone before we've seen a T6 BOP (after a year now). So guess that might happen in maybe 6 months or so like the raider mechanic originally released with the Plesh Brek and eventually given to BOPs not long before T6 rolled around, just in time to be made obsolete by T7 ships this time next year?

Interesting observation. Desperately waiting on a T6 BoP, and now that a Lobi Raider is released that makes it more likely.

    Genetic Sequencers sound really good.

I like the Herald Outfit, sort of resembles the Reman outfit and might work well on my Romulan who has a deprived wardrobe compared to Feds.

    The floating Triconipus sounds funny.

Well this has to be the shortest peace I've ever seen between 2 sides. With everyone running around in Iconian ships, the Iconians will not like it and we'll be back at square one. Seriously, how does this make any sense!? We are RECOVERING from a war, not trying to salvage warships!

Also, that BOFF seating of Lt Universal/Pilot and Lt Commander Universal/Intel on the Raider, why the HELL wasn't that given to the T6 Prometheus!? Would have made a ton more sense.

The one thing though, that disappoints me is the apparent lack of a Herald bridge officer. I just hope that maybe got left out of this blog entry and is in the next!

Not entirely sure Cryptic understands, that with these ships in Federation and KDF, no other power in the galaxy can stand against them.

To play devil's advocate, I think the section I highlighted is the key here. While no other power in THIS galaxy may be able to stand against them, Cryptic has already hinted that the Mirror Universe didn't just win against their version of the Iconians, they beat them.

Now it could be that they did the same thing the prime universe did and revert to time travel but instead decided to take the Sela option and wiped them out in the past, thereby changing their own timeline and now the Mirror Universe we will be seeing starting with Season 11 isn't your father's MU. This new (52 ;)) MU could have their own version of Iconian tech which may be how they are posing a threat to us.

We'll see once Season 11 hits.

Oh, and I'm still betting that at some point we will see a Borg Lockbox. It'll probably be a Borg Collective box though, with assimilated T6 versions of some of our favorite old T5 lockbox ships. That way they can give players Borg Ships without handing out Cubes to everyone and possibly keeping CBS happy.

You know, now that I think of it, THIS is how you kill 2 birds with one stone. Make an Assimilated T6 Connie! :p

wow...Cryptic is really hoping to rake in the cash this time it seems. More than usual. 3 ships, two lockbox and one lobi. TONS of lobi item store items. This isn't Season 11: New Dawn. This is Season 11: Stop eating and supporting yourself financially and spend all your money on these virtual items!

As @markhawkman said, no Borg lockboxes. There was however a Tal Shiar lockbox which featured Borg ships, basically. The Tal Shiar ships are meant to be blends of Borg tech but they are effectively assimilated ships.

Yep that was the one I was thinking about.

It is time for Cryptic to come out with a box for Independent Borgs. That could be awesome.

The armor is a separate costume from the Thrall costume.

Bought STO on release date, been playing then and now, but never posted on the official forum. Feels like a special day.

Anyway, I've never wanted a ship so much as this Herald dreadnough carrier. I know some people don't like Herald ship design, but I don't care, I love it. (now the song will be stuck with you for a while)

Never been a fan of buying lockboxes for a specific ship (i prefer buying keys occasionnaly for a little surprise gift). However, I might make an exception for this dreadnought.

Since i've never been into lockboxes, is there any way to know what percentages of chance do I have to get an Herald dreadnought or even cruiser ?

Thank you in advance guys, and I'll see you on the final frontier. :-)

To this day Cryptic never published the odds and ignored all inquiries regarding them, so we will never know, unfortunately. Some dedicated players sampled them and came up with a figure of roughly 1% for a particular ship, that's as precise as it gets.

Bottom is and has always been: Lockboxes are gambling, nothing more, nothing less. You have a set chance on winning a particuler ship, this chance is secret but not very high. Your chances do not increase no matter how many keys you buy. If you purchase lockboxes for one particular prize be ready to spend a lot of money and be disappointed - it's gambling. The house always wins.

About time we get a dread carrier, hate that it is a lockbox prize but will buy keys to get it.
Wouldn't be surprised if this is what they plan to do with the T6 Scimitar , T6 Odyessy , and T6 Bortasqu'.

Never seen a lock box ship added to the lobi store before. As for which ships you can get from where, it's all in the article.

"[...] By opening one of the new Herald Lock Boxes, players will be able to win the Herald Quas Flight Deck Cruiser [T6]. [...] The Lobi Store now offers the Herald Baltim Heavy Raider [T6]. [...] Finally, the Herald Lock Box contains the Herald Vonph Dreadnought Carrier [T6]. This incredibly rare Tier 6 starship has a small chance to be rewarded in place of Lobi Crystals when opening the lock box."
