Why is STO Down?

in Star Trek Online General Discussion
I have looked all over the forums and the STO Facebook page to find out why the Holodeck is down today....Does anyone know? I was about to login when I saw the red dot saying it was down.

    I'm seeing it too, but no other thread before now and no word in any official channel that I can see. Weird.

    I could get to the character select screen. When I clicked [Play] it said the "server was not available"....or something like that.

    I've been logged in for the last few hours with no issues, so this is news to me.

    I and quite a few others are still in it (ie: playing STO with no issue and can switch chars). But loading up another copy of launcher shows server offline

    Red light on the server, but able to log in okay and play...

    Game looks like it's up, but the launcher isn't populating and is showing a red light. Checking it out.

    I tried again and now in game on DS9. Figured something might be wrong with launcher Lol.

    ok its wierd am in safe mode then in options i lowered graphics to 9 from version 11....and crashed to desktop 2 times... server status still red trying to verify files then trying again .verified went in safe mode then lowered graphics to 9..nope still being disconnected to desktop..ill wait bit and try again

    Yeah, the servers are run by hamsters. The launcher is run by field mice.

    According to my source, the server hamsters retired a long time ago!

    Still does anyone know whats going on? been at work all day and this is the only forum about the servers being down, and nothing form cyptic

    Did you try actually READING the thread before posting?

    The red light's on, but you can log in just fine.
