I know that we already have the Starfleet, Romulan and Klingon races but I've played though most of the 3 and think that it would be good to play as a Borg and pilot the cubes and spheres...

Not quite ive watched but not commented much and have refrained from even discussing any topic on this forum due to its toxic community nature.

I believe he was speaking to the topic in general, and would probably agree with you.
The universe has a wonderful sense of humor. The trick is learning how to take a joke.
Oh I don't know about the community being that toxic. I mean yeah, you see some skirmishes here and there and yes there are some folks that are obvious trolls but I think on the whole there are alot of commentators here that want to help whether with coming up with ideas or giving advice there is alot in abundance. True there are complaints but that comes with every game.
Being I am not too sure if I violate some forum rule about mentioning another game I will say in another forum whose name is part of a police search acronym and has been "reloaded" for quite some time I can honestly say that is the example of a community that is very toxic. From the players to the forum and game mods who do not mind breaking their own rules and post political views to the point that the back and forth between mods and players is so bad that they never hear anything from the mods.
Maybe I haven't been looking hard enough but I don't see that here on such a extreme level. As far as the Cardassians are concerned being a playable race, it is an issue that has been discussed for a while (and one that I really hope will happen) but until there is something that comes down the pipe saying it will happen I suppose all we can do is hope for now.

cardassians are a logical choice...but you are suggesting logic to the most non logical company ever, I mean does no one even pay attention to the fact that they named themselves Cryptic?
but lets be fair, Romulans need to be bumped up to full faction level (like kdf was) before we are allowed to add another fraction
I fear what that would bring...

...And you just know that if this happens all of those U.S.S. ships you bought won't unlock any I.S.S. versions. You'll basically have to rebuy your ships with a slightly different paint job for your new toons. Soooo... the ability to sell us the Galaxy nine or so more times? Yeah, this is probably going to happen. Way easier than building a whole new fleet of Cardassian ships. Terran Empire is probably a front runner to be next in line...

Justice! Anyone who wants to fly that thing deserves to have their wallet TRIBBLE. Now, if I had a client side option to render that thing so it looks like a sparkle space pony....
No need for new races unless they were drastically different from what we have now.
Although I wouldn't say no to a playable 8472.
As to my suggestion of Terran Empire, I think their T6 ships should have swapped Specilizations vs their Prime Universe counterparts.
They can even use older ESD art assets.
As to Borg as an actual faction, you might think you want to play as a Borg... but really... as a player... you don't. Nobody really wants the Borg run speed penalty. If you've ever been on Defera, had an Elite charging you, and thought of Chariots of Fire, you understand. Let's just stick with Liberated Borg as a Vet perk and call it good...
Cardassians are coming. You know it. Cryptic doesn't put that much work into something without milking it dry (new revamped cardassian story arc). TBH, I'm kinda happy about it. I hope they don't just offer a playable race for 10 bucks in the C-store though. I hope they actually make a expansion out of it. Give us like 9 cardassian, Breen , Bajorian and Maquis ships. Maybe even a "real" Jem hadar Dreadnought this time around. Make the Jem'hadar and founders the bad guys of the expansion and everything is set. Take my money.
I'm all up for a 4th faction when the 3rd (Romulan) is finished. Until then, OP can take a number.

All the asset's are already in the game.
Just need a few more uniform options and the missions slightly updated, like the Delta recruits.
Whether and actual faction would happen, though, it would be more likely to be another Delta event, but being an evil Terran Empire agent..
