How about this: in order to avoid everyone dying from the horrible, apparently incurable, disease running rampant through this ship, the captain somehow utilizes a subspace rift or something to put it into stasis. I know that sounds like Scotty and the transformer trick, but that was just he and one other guy in stasis (and the other guy musta been a Redshirt); I mean some way the captain quarantines the whole ship in space/time, maybe phase-shifting... I don't know, some silly sci-fi explanation, whatever fits.
But yeah, a derelict, long-lost ship, found without power except minimal life support, which we'd need spacesuits to get around in, with all sorts of surprises inside -- this is a mission I'd be interested in doing!
or perhaps another doomsday machine shows up and captain harriman sacrafices the ENT B to stop it and all we find is the ship disaster beacon.........
or captain harriman decides to go to 1) talos IV 2) to visit GOD at the center of the galaxy 3) decides to go thru the barrier at the edge of galaxy and some of the crew are zapped and gain god-like psi powers.......
Prob already mentioned, but a thread a while back was asking for a 'better' Halloween mission than Hearts & Minds. 'Ghost ship' with re-animated corpse action sounds pretty Halloweenish to me!
(Please note: In SF terms, a corpse animated by an alien virus isn't the same thing as a 'zombie', although I like the whole spooky dark corridors floating bodies bit too.)
