Extended Platform Maintenance – October 13

On October 13, our teams will be performing an extended maintenance (6am PDT to 3pm PDT) to make networking improvements on our servers. This maintenance will affect our Arc platform as well as all pages on our arcgames.com domain and games hosted from our servers that are launched from Arc and other platforms.

    This is good, hope this sorts out some issues. I'm still seeing Rubber Banding at times, even during low traffic hours.

    I got the email about this earlier. Already feeling the withdrawals setting in at the prospect of no STO for an entire day. :(​​
    Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.
    True alters don't have a "main". Account wide unlocks for all unique event rewards!!

    My day off too, guess I'll earn brownie points by spending time with the family without distractions. I'll have to get up early and get my doffing & Maraudering in before the down time. No biggie.

    Maybe when the baby is sleeping I'll play some Dynasty Warriors or Dawn of War 2.

    Looks like I'll just have to play FInal Fantasy that day instead...

    Oh, and since I'm grinding for the Command Cruiser Mega-pack, I'd like to take this opportunity to do the following: Beep! Beep! Beep! Buzz. Buzz. This is a test of the whining player system...
    "Wah! Wah! Wah! I'm losing a day that I could be grinding! Wah! Cryptic owes me all the dilithium and Zen I didn't get to grind because the servers were down, Wah! Wah!"
    This was only a test. Had this been a real whining player, they wouldn't be fighting a case of the chuckles at having typed this...

    Seriously though, thanks for making sure we had plenty of advance warning, you guys.

    Is this for people that use the ARC launcher or will this affect Steam users to if so they i guess it will be another day i don't log on

    That's a really good question!
    If we're gonna take the game down the entire day on one of my days off, (Tues), it would be nice to have the other one, (Thurs) to fall back on, so I can get my STO fix o:) .

    Been playing World of Warships a lot more lately anyway myself (plus Alpha and closed Beta tested it).

    STO still gets too damn boring waaaaaaay too fast. Gotta have a rotation of games to cycle through.

    That's because we have lazy devs who lack vision and think the playerbase isn't intelligent enough to know what quality content looks like.

    its about time too. The hours offline (12 hours) seems alot but will hopefully be worth it. I usually play sto during the night between midnight and 6am and was recently disconnected from the server several times in the space of a few hours. Theres been rubberbanding too. I assume this is prior to season patch as a guess.

    So I have to try cram all my playtime into 10-2? How long does it take to hit 'refine' on 6 characters load up a few DOFF missions and some fleet donations?​​

    Ce la vie. Stuffed back to back with meetings anyway that day so playtime was non-existent anyway.​​
    This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Questerius 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

    Since everything at PWE will be down, including all their games, then yes it'll affect Steam too.

      Well, to be precise it is going to be an e-book day, because my e-reader has a few titles that wait to be read. The mentioned "Atonement" was a dead-tree book, though, because I pre-ordered it last November from Book Depository. Then forgot about it, and got a nice "surprise" gift in mail a few weeks ago LOL

      Reading the newest Titan novel now.​​

      [grabs tinfoil beanie] Wouldn't this just be the perfect time to wedge in a surprise release of Season 11? Twelve hours of downtime in which to get all the new code deployed and validated by internal QA teams. I know if it was my Operations team here at work, we'd take advantage of a planned outage like this. C'mon Crytpic, you know you want to do it!
