The first in my series of Science Kludges, still a work in progress but progressed enough to display something.

Still have doffs and such to sort, also sto academy does not have everything yet.

The whole concept of this series is create science out of what was not meant to be science (Note: None of this will be cheap utilizing traits, ships and equipment ive collected over the years. In this case I took a Kelvin Heavy Command vessel and rigged it for as much EPG (along with some ctrlx) as I could cram into it. Using a couple off oddball skills and traits I wanted to make it into something that could weaken and wipe out small to medium sized groups (it can do larger groups but staying alive is trickier).

Initial testing is promising, but more work is needed.

Well, that's certainly an interesting design, and it's always nice to see activity in this thread.

May I ask a few questions, please? Not as criticism, just curiosity.

    1) Why did you choose the now-nerfed Embassy Sci consoles over the Research lab ones?

    2) Is it really efficient to double up on CSV I and TS III ?

    3) Is the Kemosabe Weaponry skill still worth using?

    4) Only three skill points in the Tactical tree? Seriously?

They are the research lab ones, I think STOA's icon is for the embassy consoles.

The doubles are a placeholder/experiment. Might get distributed targeting or FA, but been away a few months so have to see whats new and fits best.

I'm normally torp heav, so KLW is both a hold over and a why not.

    Low tac fits me better.

I've decided to switch over to my Romulan for awhile, so the nature of the kludges will change slightly.

Nest up is the Pilum. There will be several subtypes each using technology to simulate the effects of mag...er science.

Built around the Kara Advanced Warbird, this thing is meant to pull down shields and pummel a target with glowing orbs, er Plasma torpedoes from all directions. When a target or targets have been laid bare and burning the plasma lance can be used to finish off. Generally I will fly it in assault mode, except for when I see something fairly immobile and come together for siege. One plus; with all the fighters, heavy torps, guardian and warp shadow about certain types of attacks like FAW will be diluted.

There is a second variant made with Kelvin Photons in mind, with ACC2 Rapid disruptor turrets rather than corrosive plasma

An EPG variant similar to the Kelvin ship I had up last time

Boarding Patry may work as they will be hard to target through the mess of everything else

There are still a few skills and traits missing as I haven't used this character in a couple of years

I realise it's been awhile since anyone posted in this thread but hopefully some of the contributors are still active.

As it stands I'm essentially a new player and I've opted to create a Reman ,KDF aligned, Science Officer. I don't know whether or not my concept is even possible but I was wondering if anyone could help me come up with a full build for my character. At this point in time I'd like to develop a Science Officer which focuses on skills centred around locking down targets through electronic warfare. I'm not sure if this is possible, this is an idea which appeals as I've made good use of the "Jam Sensors" ability.

When it comes to weaponry I like to make good use of my torpedoes but I'm also open to focusing on beam weapons. With regard to ships, I've tried out the D'Deridex on an alt which I quite enjoyed and from there I upgraded to the Ha'apex which I loathe (this alt is a tac officer originally intended to be my main). I'd like to utilise cloaking and the associated bonuses if possible and I am aware that there are a couple of Romulan ships capable of firing torpedoes while cloaked. I have so far found that I like a balanced approach between manoeuvrability and durability.

I'd greatly appreciate any input on this and I look forward to reading any replies. I'll try answer any questions which may help further refine my concept.

    Fly safe.

So I'm starting to play with the LSS.

One of the first things I'm looking at is using it as a flanking torpedo bomber/harasser .
Basically it gets in behind a ship or station and pummels it, using tractors, jams, sabotage; whatever it takes to stay in the rear arc. The ship is nimble enough to zip away if it gets too hot.

At the moment I'm looking at a photon heavy with the saboteurs set, Intel/command, various traits like parting gift and lotsa CRTD.

I can see a lot of different potentials for this ship.
