Single Character Crashing

Happening again and it seems like there's some logical fix. Several times, I've had the game crash while playing a character and then been unable to log back in with that character without crashing repeatedly. First, it happened a couple of times just after entering Drozana station. Today, it happened to a character on Nimbus 3. I have been able to resolve this in the past by using a different computer to log into the character and move him, which implies that it's something client side.
I am able to log in and play other characters. If I try to log into the character that crashed, either directly or after logging in to another character, the game crashes to desktop. I have tried updating my drivers, validating the game files, using a proxy server, setting the game to DX9 and running in safe mode.
Sometimes I can get onto the map for a second or two but then the game crashes again. This seems to happen on ground maps.
Any suggestions?
